Good morning, good evening, good night, good afternoon,
whatever time you're listening in, wherever you're listening from.
Shout out to my Spotify listenership, Apple and Google podcasts,
and YouTube if you're watching in.
Thanks for giving me a reason to get dressed.
You could have been anywhere in the world, but you're here.
Be present and recognize that it's now, right now.
Whether your right now is working, flying, running, driving,
be thankful we're alive, baby.
Failure can be frightening.
However, as Winston Churchill reminds us, success is all about going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.
This is I Will Not Lose podcast, where we set out to prove everything is learned from failure, and we must persevere and recognize it as one step closer to success.
I'm your host, Tony Ortiz. Let's jump right in.
Be grateful we're alive, baby. Let's be thankful we're alive, baby.
we're here woke up got breath in our lungs light in our hearts this is good so without further ado
let's just jump right in man i've been working i'm not even gonna lie to you i've been hustling
grinding getting it whatever you want to call it i've been doing that and um i got nothing to show
for it tonight so little misstep but we had four times as many views in december we had two on
location podcasts i had guests scheduled out until february had all my episodes lined up ready to go
and they're sitting on my hard drive which is not with me right now so in order to stay with
the drop schedule and give you guys something for tonight i figured i'd just jump in and we'd have a
little conversation i'll let you know what i've been working on i've got a couple of things coming
up but as for tonight we're not going to do any multiple camera angles we're not going to do the
best microphone setup you know we're just going to go straight to camera and we're going to just
cut it up and i'm going to have to go with that for right now so this week we've got well recording
on a Monday. We've got Mike Frasero on a Tuesday, Alan Jimenez on a Wednesday. Next week, we've got
Dina from Amp Clothing that's going to be coming by. And I've got to reschedule with Quesa the
Artist. So just in the next three weeks, we've got four episodes to record and edit. And everybody
sees the content come out. Nobody sees the amount of work that goes behind putting everything
together and that's the point of it you know it's supposed to look effortless it's supposed to just
come every week well produced highly put up you're supposed to see clips every single day you know i
get that that's the goal post but while working that much and still ending up with a misstep with
no episode to post tonight it had me just rethinking a lot of things and really had me sit
in and think, you know, what is it that I do this for? And how much do you cater to the algorithm?
And how much do you worry about putting everything perfect and on time so that everything goes? I get
that that's what it takes to build a consistent base. And I get that there's people waiting for
an episode, which is why I wanted to touch in and give you something on a Monday. But it doesn't all
have to be perfect. You know, I had a great meeting with Lisa McDonald of Imperfections
is Beautiful. And we sat down for coffee and we had just a nice connection. And it reminded me
that that's what this podcast has allowed for me. I've been able to connect with so many people.
I'm connecting with new people this week. Yes, there goes about six to eight hours for every
one hour piece of content that you see and that's being generous you may record for an hour but
after that you have to watch it again that's another hour you have to cut clips you have to
edit all the multiple camera angles and put everything together so you're at three four
hours there it starts to stack up and then once the episode is done you have to take another half
an hour a day to put clips out you know even if you have the if you take two hours prepare all
the clips and have everything set you're still posting every day you know there's no major team
behind this there's not a whole lot more than the blood sweat and tears of myself and my guests that
donate their time to come on the show and help give you guys something to watch so you know this
isn't a complaining you guys know i love what i do and i wouldn't trade all the work for all the
connections that i've been able to make and the people that i've been able to connect with to
everybody that tunes in every other week and just listens to the story and continues on,
you know, that's what this episode is for. We're here to show that success is all about learning
to recognize failures as one step closer to it, not as some major destination that lives on the
end. So I can't call my podcast the goal is to fail and I will not lose and then try to be perfect
all the time. I don't think it's a coincidence that I happen to have a meeting scheduled with
a company called Imperfections is Beautiful. Shout out to Lisa McDonald. But I'm just seeing
everything come together. Shout out to Louis Bardalis. He had posted something I saw in his
story that he is just coming off a creative block and he just recently put out some music
and it was great to hear the truth behind what goes on behind content creation. Sometimes we
get burnt out. Sometimes we all have real jobs and things that we have to do. None of us are in our
teens and our early 20s. People have jobs, kids, lives, mortgages, school loans. There's real life
that happens and we still come together and find some way to create content and put something
together for people to consume so big shout out to all my creators big shout out to everybody that
put something out there's tons of great new content flooding the streets i've been bumping
that uh batting a thousand a thousand the johnny bills album new johnny bills big shout out to
johnny bills um i'm just hearing all these now this stuff it's the moment now when the album
comes but this took years to put together you can tell just by listening to it so tonight you're not
getting the multiple camera angles you're not getting the perfectly crafted i will not lose
podcast but don't get it twisted it's not ai it's not like i just feed stuff in i do use ai tools but
it is a lot of damn work you know and i love doing it and i do it for you we'll be back with
another episode with wesley morris coming soon i've got guest episodes scheduled at least out
until march so no shortage of content just had to hit you with a little filler thanks for staying
tuned this is i will not lose podcast
