Episode notes

In this episode of our podcast, I sit down with my teenage son to talk about a wide range of topics. We start off by discussing Andrew Tate, a controversial figure known for his views on masculinity and misogyny. We explore the ways in which toxic masculinity can harm both men and women, and the importance of developing healthy attitudes towards gender roles. We then move on to some lighter topics, including my son's hobbies such as drawing, MMA, and collecting Pokémon cards. He shares some of his favorite techniques for drawing, and we discuss how the discipline and focus required for martial arts can be applied to other areas of life. We also dive into the world of social media influencing, and my son shares some of his favorite content creators and tips for building a following online. Throughout the episode, we just hang out and chat about our thoughts and experiences. As a father and son, it's important for us to have these open and honest conversations about the issues that matter to us. We hope that by sharing our perspectives, we can inspire others to do the same with their loved ones.

  1. Microphone check. What's up, folks? Just a quick disclaimer for my audio listeners.

  2. This episode is a little bit different from our normal format. It's extremely special.

  3. It's a conversation with me and my son. So we've recorded it a few weeks ago and decided to drop

  4. it for his 13th birthday weekend this past weekend, March 11th. So if you're listening in,

  5. it's still a good experience, but we do reference some of his drawings, YouTube videos, and we talk

  6. about things that do have a visual reference so if you guys have been listening in you know i'm

  7. all about audio first and making sure it looks and sounds good but this one you may want to watch in

  8. so it's up there on youtube go ahead and check it out if not keep listening in we're gonna get

  9. started all right what's up we doing this yeah tell the people who you are i'm jayden and what's

  10. your last name ortiz jayden ortiz what do you do man um i do uh mostly i draw i do mma and i'm

  11. also artists and singing and stuff oh that's dope man draw mma artists and singing i mean i skateboard

  12. a little bit too not to brag i seen you put that tiktok edit together with uh that started with

  13. your kickflip or no was it a pop shove it you did yeah that's lit um yeah so we don't have to tell

  14. the people how we're related people wonder they're looking at your cool jacket like yo it's nuts

  15. but yeah i wanted to show you how this stuff works i kind of built this for you man um i was really

  16. into audio when i was little and recording and it's just a dope power to be able to have so i

  17. don't know man uh what do you want to talk about let's start with the drawing what do you like to

  18. draw uh mostly just sometimes i started i started out with anime and then i came more towards like

  19. realistic drawings like martin luther king i did for martin luther king day do you have that

  20. martin luther king drawing yeah i've probably have it somewhere but i don't have it with me

  21. right now no that's dope but you're gonna help me uh we can throw it up here so if you want to

  22. talk about the drawing just picture in your head and i'll make sure it's up there but uh what else

  23. you said name some drawings i'll put them up if you have them i could take a picture of them and

  24. throw them in the video yeah i mean i also did for halloween i made it like a ghost face one

  25. took a lot of time and a lot of shading but yeah that was mostly pretty much it took it was like a

  26. long process i usually just watch tutorials and stuff and it helps me like a picture what i want

  27. to draw sometimes i mix it up with the tutorials and just like fix some stuff i like that's dope

  28. like uh do you follow any specific tutorials you want to shout out any channels or not i don't

  29. really i follow whatever i like i said like spots by eye so i'm like oh that looks cool i want to

  30. recreate that in my own way you find it on like tiktok or sometimes on tiktok i find it mostly

  31. on youtube that's dope i can't wait to see your own style this is wild man you're like uh into

  32. mad stuff that i'm into is it like are you naturally into it or did you do it because

  33. i picked up drawing because you were always drawing for me when i was a little kid when i

  34. asked something you'd always pick it up and just draw it oh that's right yeah that was probably

  35. some of the last times i was drawing i haven't drawn in like 10 years yeah i mean i've doodled

  36. stuff since then but nothing really crazy and then the video that's you're gonna surpass me in

  37. that i only got into it a few years you've been doing it what this whole year yeah i've been doing

  38. yeah about this whole year maybe a little bit last year i wasn't really too much into it but

  39. i started growing more towards it i gotta figure out if i can get some of your edits up there

  40. because this is a promotion for you this is dope man we throw this in a time capsule so we did uh

  41. this isn't your first debut on youtube yeah nah what was your what was your first debut my first

  42. one was like kids with toys with my with my step sister in there so we were doing like little toy

  43. unboxings and stuff big shout out to leila we will uh put those clips up that'll be great you guys

  44. look so much different like it's insane but that's up there it's forever that was a big flex when you

  45. guys were in middle school to be able to be like yo we're on youtube prove it just look at it from

  46. every phone uh the video quality was horrible i had no idea what i was doing back then we had

  47. that little kitchen lamp yeah we had it like on top of like the baker dresser thing oh yeah yeah

  48. it was clamped it was like we couldn't jump at all it would just like shake every time the steady

  49. motion would not there oh yeah i didn't even have it on a tripod no you just had it like sitting up

  50. on there like i remember we're doing our yo-yo video a while back yeah we were just doing that

  51. stuff and we were jumping around and it was shaking the whole camera you can probably see

  52. it in the video that's hilarious i gotta go back and that's probably still up there wow that's

  53. crazy that's crazy but it's cool to look back on stuff i have files going back to i think 2014 or

  54. 15 i had some from 2011 but i was definitely creating professional work and i don't know

  55. if i'd call it professional but well yeah people paid me for it so it's professional but uh no i

  56. look at some of my old stuff and it's reckless even some of my old podcasts this is gonna be

  57. the best episode yet yeah for real but all right so let me get through the uh the intros we'll get

  58. through the intros get into some stuff and then you're gonna educate me on a couple of things so

  59. all right how uh you watch the show you know how i start yeah go ahead no i don't know all of it

  60. though just start i'll pick it up how i so you go like towards like what's up listeners like

  61. spotify and on i'm on spotify if you're listening in from the trains and like the cars wherever

  62. you know that's dope yeah man it's about consistency so let's let's knock the

  63. paperwork out of the way all right good morning good evening good night good afternoon good dusk

  64. dawn shout out to my spotify listenership apple podcast audible amazon music samsung pod chaser

  65. deezer google podcasts youtube if you're watching in thanks for letting us get dressed

  66. coming live from my voice to your phone computer headphones tv car stereo i don't know if anybody

  67. checked on the smartwatch just yet but uh last week they weren't bluetooth speaker you could

  68. have been anywhere in the world but you're here right now take a moment to be present and recognize

  69. it is now right now whether you're working running exercising cleaning laying down flying driving

  70. be grateful for alive baby failure can be frightening however as winston churchill

  71. reminds us success is all about going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm

  72. this is i will not lose podcast let's jump right in word so we have jayden ortiz on the podcast

  73. this week um i want to just have a conversation father and son it's a cool medium we share a lot

  74. of things and one of them is audio and podcasting so i want to let jayden talk about some of the

  75. stuff he's into he's been telling me about this andrew tate and i had to do a little research

  76. because i swear there's two different internets yeah there's like them like they say so much bad

  77. stuff about him but then there's also really good stuff about him that what he does and helps with

  78. oh man it's just like i did you hear he got arrested i did hear he got arrested yeah i

  79. guess he was like i don't know he first i read one article it was like about him texting underage

  80. girls and then he was also like trafficking a woman and stuff yeah i read that was a human

  81. trafficking one mob ties and he's out now or something like that right yeah is he i heard

  82. that he was in jail for like 40 minutes and uh i mean i wouldn't be surprised man's rich he got

  83. mad money's bail them out anytime like makes sense i mean i hate to laugh it's nuts i was

  84. reading something on him that he said he knows i guess he lived in romania and yeah uh he knows

  85. it's corrupt so he likes to live there because he'd rather be able to pay somebody off he gets

  86. a speeding ticket i'm not quoting this like this yeah my listeners know this is not a spot for

  87. research like i'm not breaking news or anything but i do want to be educated i want to know what

  88. you know and it's like like who is this guy is it james bond is it even real like is he i don't even

  89. know let me ask you is this a real is he real like yeah anybody actually seen him um i'm pretty yeah

  90. he's been seen in the streets a couple of times uh i would like if you told me he was an ai yeah

  91. but uh so some good things world champion and kid boxing right yeah twice he's two titles um i guess

  92. yeah i guess he fought two times and never lost no no no he fought more than yeah more than two

  93. times but i'm pretty sure but i'm pretty sure he won like a two twice at least and then he started

  94. laying off i heard he was supposed to fight jake paul i don't know no i think that was

  95. or yeah or tristan one of those two yeah yeah one of the andrew tate brothers were trying to

  96. fight jake paul in the ring well when i saw there was a second one i was like there's a tristan too

  97. i was like oh man so i had to do it but they had um i guess it they made their fame through like a

  98. webcam business yeah you know about this um i've seen a couple of their clips on tiktok and stuff

  99. mostly edits and stuff i've seen a lot of those so wait what are you exactly seeing like women i mean

  100. no like he's just talking with his brother and i guess a couple of his friends they're just going

  101. back and forth talking about just like how like certain stuff works like they were talking about

  102. how like they'll make money sometimes and all that stuff so it's mostly just that stuff mostly

  103. on TikTok they usually you know TikTok be acting all right sometimes so they're mostly just just

  104. standing there and just clipping out some of the words that he'd be saying and making them more

  105. misogynistic than he's really trying to say but I'm not trying to follow under him but at the

  106. same time like i'm not really trying to be anything like him but i like the way he his

  107. perspective on money is and how to make it and stuff well i mean you don't get that kind of

  108. following without being a charismatic person so you can admit that he has charisma but there's

  109. like a little little bit a lot of people there's i mean that could be a good or bad thing so let's

  110. talking about the the misogyny like do you understand why people are so against it some of

  111. it and i mean yeah i see like a little bit of it dude i was just watching i was um watching a tiktok

  112. and it was uh boys in the hood do you know about this movie um i've heard about it i gotta show

  113. you these clips i mean ice cube is in it and it's just like you cannot make a movie like this

  114. nowadays and stuff but that's how the times were like they just talked super down on women

  115. he has a clip i know if i tell you you're gonna laugh they're gonna mess it up so we'll do it

  116. you guys know which clip i'm talking about the barbie clip where she's like she's like who are

  117. you calling a hoe and he was like oh i'm sorry and i was like oh man he's just calling women the b

  118. word like and it was on tv it was completely regular um women were thought of as less than

  119. men i mean they couldn't i mean it's been like that for a while yeah well yeah there's still a

  120. lot of it but when you have like a me too movement or you have something that empowers women like you

  121. have to understand how scared women were to even speak up against something going on so like

  122. it's you don't want to overuse your power not in martial arts not in wrestling nothing like

  123. you don't want to abuse power cops shouldn't do it like men shouldn't do it women shouldn't do it

  124. but it's just disgusting so you gotta understand why this stuff's bad what he says but yeah it's

  125. i don't know you live in a different generation than me i don't know how you guys are doing with

  126. like misogyny and racism and all that sort of stuff but i mean yeah you live in a you live in

  127. a wild world but so i guess he his i said his father was a chess player did you see this

  128. he doesn't really i've never really heard him talk about his dad at all actually

  129. so what kind of good stuff does he say about making money that you're taking him i see you

  130. bought yourself a Gatorade and this is not a sponsorship or an endorsement, but where we go

  131. to Wawa, we said, let's get something to drink and let's record a podcast. We can get this. And I

  132. said, hey man, they got a two for five on this rain. You want to pick one? I picked one. He said,

  133. nah dad, I got my card. I'm good. And he comes up and pulls up to the self checkout with three

  134. drinks like oh man i guess you're just getting stuff for for all weekend but that's wild um

  135. i'm proud of you man to have your own money and do some stuff i know you've already come out and

  136. worked with me done some filming what do you you have fun doing that sort of stuff i liked when we

  137. were um at towards the crayola factory doing that walking around i liked when we filmed the

  138. a lot too oh that edit's just about done um i'll show you that footage i'll show you that footage

  139. i'll remind you when we get it off um i don't think i could throw it up for the podcast because

  140. that's like for a client but um it's cool excuse me one second oh that energy drink hit different

  141. but nah so what else are we into pokemon cards i mean yeah we do a lot of those together a lot

  142. i mean the encounter and stuff going towards their little comic book shop

  143. dude i just wrote them a review on google yesterday because i stopped by my phone asked

  144. me what did you think of the encounter and i was like all right let me get in my review bag real

  145. quick and i was just like you know for generations i don't know but it was like that they kept they

  146. kept us out of trouble man like go into the comic book store the only trouble you had to worry about

  147. was maybe getting beaten up or robbed for your Pokemon cards

  148. because it was like two, three miles.

  149. But we were talking with my mom, your grandma.

  150. What show was she watching?

  151. Either Leave it to Beaver, one of those old like Nick at Night,

  152. black and white shows.

  153. And they're having a skit where the person was in second grade

  154. and they walk downtown to get something.

  155. And it's like, dude, second graders don't walk around nowadays.

  156. yeah no you just see them walk in like maybe they don't even walk themselves to the bus stop anymore

  157. like i don't know that's wild but i don't know man times are times are different they

  158. i'll watch boys in the hood with you sometime that's a just a completely different type of movie

  159. um there's a lot of things from my generation that just would never be done again even in

  160. video games dude video you understand how video games are misogynistic i mean i've seen like i

  161. don't really know i haven't really played those type of video games well it's like uh it's not

  162. so much that they i don't even know if misogynistic is the word but like they have like do you know

  163. laura croft is tomb raider uh nah they make women that don't actually look like real with like they

  164. don't look like women in real life oh yeah they're like really big-breasted and like super athletic

  165. it just doesn't exist so these are clearly men making these models of women and stuff like that

  166. you need it's a lot in anime too oh yeah i guess you're right there's a lot of that in anime if

  167. you watch the dragon ball z you can see like chichi and all those people yeah i guess you're

  168. right uh i don't know if chichi is as bad as laura croft but no they went on to make movies about uh

  169. or movies out of those video games madness uh let's see i'm trying to think pokemon cards are

  170. still around those are probably going to be around for a while i feel like logan paul made them worth

  171. a lot more when he made his unboxing video when he was doing that stream on his podcast and he

  172. was selling some of the cards i feel like when he was opening that first edition box his first ever

  173. was when he went to that one guy's house and got like this like like out and back a graded 10

  174. charizard first edition that was crazy what if you see edition charizard if you see like one of his

  175. when he was going to his box back he has it like on a chain and he it's like he has it in a chain

  176. like the whole entire slap

  177. Logan has the

  178. yeah

  179. he has a chain on

  180. and it's all

  181. crested diamonds

  182. around it and stuff

  183. I'm not gonna lie

  184. that's a sick flex

  185. yeah

  186. I'd be like

  187. whoever knew

  188. a Pokemon card

  189. to be a flex

  190. like

  191. well no

  192. do you know what it is

  193. he's kind of got

  194. the creative freedom

  195. to be able to

  196. do what he wants

  197. and it's still

  198. considered cool

  199. like you have to realize

  200. like a lot of things

  201. go out

  202. you'll see me do this a lot

  203. but I get flamed

  204. for everything

  205. that i do that i think myself is cool because i don't really have to like i don't have a job that

  206. requires me to have a certain thing like i keep myself kept but i don't have like a uniform or

  207. i don't have to be outside of myself when i wear collar shirts and ties and stuff that's because

  208. i really do feel comfortable wearing that stuff and i like that sort of style but look at you

  209. with the drip man what is that i don't know um i kind of just got this from like a little place

  210. what brand is it uh it doesn't matter it's like i don't even know what the brand is i just picked

  211. it up and got it and liked it it's fire you could do some accessories with it i like your glasses

  212. with it too yeah but might have to go and get some haircuts this weekend gotta get uh gotta get

  213. lined up but yeah so i want to mess around we should after we record make like uh like some

  214. music you might get me back in my bag dude i would record to get on a track with you

  215. it'd be dope we just got to find something that would be that it would be about but i don't even

  216. know what else uh what else has been going on with you man this is something this is a chance

  217. where you could tell yourself goals that you want to have you can like that's what i do all the time

  218. i told myself i wanted to start training jujitsu you train you're a martial artist shout your gym

  219. out um tiger showmans go in bethlehem nice a little place you can i pretty sure they have

  220. some in new york if you listen out in new york you can go to there hit that gym over there too

  221. i know my friend dm he he literally lives in new york and comes all the way down here on the

  222. weekends just to train at the rgm in bethlehem wow yeah that's sick who's your sensei um sensei

  223. villafang that's dope man yeah really funny guy yeah i like him i like him yeah we're you're

  224. gonna be over there tomorrow and i'm gonna be over at uh exalt jujitsu with uh evan robinson

  225. 360 fitness i'm gonna get you in there i don't know that he trains kids um but he knows a guy

  226. that does look at you looking at your phone go ahead check it that's why i don't that's why i

  227. don't keep mine during the podcast no just in case it's important just check it real quick

  228. could be your mom or something i was just um some snapchat that's really it but your girlfriend

  229. probably

  230. goofball never know nah but always keep one yeah for sure keep one it's really not a like that's

  231. the thing dude like having multiple girlfriends having like i feel like that starts to mess you

  232. up a lot having multiple not that like i know there's like some like um i don't know like in

  233. the lgbtq i know there's like some things that it's like normal to have a bunch of different

  234. girlfriends and boyfriends and stuff but i guess that's what they call it like polyamorous or

  235. something polyamorous yeah but i don't know is polyamory lgbtq um i think it is actually

  236. i think it's a part of it they i think they have their own flag and everything i think like straight

  237. people could oh that may be i don't know you you know more than me on that not really my choice

  238. what you do but i just just be a gentleman man like it works out open all that stuff yeah chivalry

  239. that sort of stuff and people are like wow did you go to the military what'd you do like it's

  240. nah i'm just a nice person you know exactly yeah say my mom raised me um that's dope though

  241. but yeah big difference from between money and my dad the sort of stuff me and my dad are into

  242. fishing shooting um i gotta teach you to shoot soon yeah i started showing a bow and arrow a

  243. little bit that's sick my buddy uh shout out to my buddy tim wood he's probably listening at some

  244. point if not i'll clip this and send it to him but he sent me a video of how to make a bow and

  245. i'm watching it i dude i wanted to make a tiktok on it but he like he goes and so let's just say

  246. this is the bow yeah um for those of you guys just listening i'm holding my hand flat and there's an

  247. arc where he wants it to curve a little bit so he uses sharpie on the tip and he uses pencil

  248. real lightly here yeah so when he goes and starts carving it the pencil comes off lightly so it's

  249. less here the sharpie bleeds into the wood so he has to scrape more and more off and it makes that

  250. natural arc so he's sending updates as he's like sanding and doing this different stuff explaining

  251. what's going on i'm like oh man i wanted to have him on the podcast he just started a reptile cage

  252. business so um i will have him reach out give me his uh woodworking information and we'll go ahead

  253. and throw it up at some point i'm pretty sure one of my teachers have a little word about like a

  254. like a woodworking business out here somewhere i think it's like towards out here but yeah he

  255. has like a little business and stuff that's dope that's like a craft i can respect people like a

  256. second job for him because he's a teacher on the free time and then he's just like has his own

  257. woodworking business on the other hand he's a teacher on the free time now i understand what

  258. you mean yeah no that's sick and like he sells pieces or um i guess so he knows a lot about that

  259. stuff right now i'm industrial arts so we're doing like i'm in woodshop right now so we're

  260. getting making puzzle pieces and stuff oh sick yeah i made a a car uh like do you remember the

  261. pinewood derby um yeah yeah you carve your own car yeah that stuff bro i remember the one time

  262. that my dad will tell you i won't put them on blast but i was in boy scouts and we had to do

  263. this pinewood derby and i can't remember if it was honestly i wouldn't be surprised if it was me

  264. if i was the kid and it was just so embarrassing that i suppressed the thought and pretended it

  265. with some other kid but you get a block of wood yeah and it has two little slits in it that you

  266. can put axles other than that you have to carve the like the car itself like the body of the car

  267. yeah you know it you know primewood derby i heard i seen it a lot of times on the tv shows and stuff

  268. and like little shows that i used to watch it was like a rite of passage so yeah one kid forgot to

  269. open the box but didn't want to get left out so his dad just put the wheels on the block of wood

  270. and all the other cars are carved out and aerodynamic and they go super fast and it was

  271. like this was just a block and he was like he flipped it around the other way to put what

  272. should have been the trunk so it was heavier so it would roll faster and it was just like oh that's

  273. embarrassing man as madness but oh man did he win no i don't i don't remember that but it's funny

  274. no it's weird because you have memories as kids and you remember certain things but you don't

  275. learn at least i didn't learn till i was older like you got to be careful what you put

  276. in your head you know like even watching violent videos on the internet like

  277. i don't know you go through a phase they had uh the internet was really bad when i was in like

  278. high school and stuff but people do heinous things and yeah i just like i like how like

  279. reddit tags it are you on reddit at all no i'm not really on reddit that much what do you do

  280. just talk tiktok snapchat um i'm mostly yeah i'm on snapchat tiktok instagram mostly stuff like

  281. that i see you on instagram yeah a little bit not too much no i see you posting creative pictures

  282. but instagram would be a cool outlet for your edits tiktok's probably the best yeah tiktok's

  283. the best to get the most like views and stuff a lot i remember a couple of my videos get like 1k

  284. views that's dope yeah that's dope um i'm gonna have to have you do some edits yo i wonder what

  285. this clip will do we'll put together a clip of this episode for some stuff pull some things out

  286. but well excuse me it's a great conversation with you man yeah you're not like uh you're not really

  287. shy no i'm not shy at all like i'm not really camera shy that much like i can talk and stuff

  288. in front of the camera it doesn't really make me that nervous i think it's a good thing for like

  289. youtubers and stuff if you ever watch like the adrian harden or jideon or low for any of those

  290. people like dizzy dill the canal joseph like all those people just doing some different things

  291. they're not shot for the camera they go to different places they have the fun they live

  292. their life you know yeah definitely it's a lot of work though dude like for one of those videos i

  293. watch one of those like they go around they do stuff they get footage but it's a lot of editing

  294. work that's why i told you bring your laptop over like even if we just mess around i show you some

  295. things with edits or we pull it like you don't want to get to the so when we shot your christmas

  296. concert yeah i have the footage for that and i at least want to take the stuff of like your little

  297. brother and get it so your mom has like that footage but we don't have to do the whole video

  298. like if we were gonna do that that concert was on like the 17th like that week we had to edit it

  299. it's really easy to fall behind even like when i run a weekly podcast i find myself like

  300. oh man i got and i don't want to say oh man because i do enjoy doing it but it's like you

  301. know i have to remind myself dude somebody's gonna and then you're like you go and you look

  302. at your analytics you're like oh man i should have had thousands of views on that i put so

  303. much time but yeah you don't always get like the thing that you think you're gonna get

  304. that's like a lot of thing with social media like you think you're gonna get millions of views like

  305. if i post this edit i'm just gonna get a million views i like it so much but but reality you

  306. probably maybe maximum maybe get a hundred or something not even maybe sometimes 70 or eight

  307. like a views or like likes or anything you're not always gonna hit that high goal but you can

  308. but it's always a possibility if you keep up on the grind and stuff you just you once you got you

  309. gotta climb the mountain you start out at the bottom and then you gotta climb to the top you

  310. know this guy jay with the gems yeah oh man i mean i remember when i was younger i started out

  311. like i was still probably in um elementary school and they were showing and i was starting out with

  312. maybe the maximum i had like 75 followers and then i'm and then i just got into the groove

  313. for tiktok and over time i started grinding up and building a lot of stuff with a lot of views

  314. and stuff heck yeah what are you at now i think i'm at maybe 5k something that's dope man and you

  315. know when you're at like 100k you're gonna look back at this episode and be like i had 5k that

  316. was so little yeah but reality is like five if you really think about it like it's so small number

  317. because you see all these people with a million followers and like all these people with like a

  318. hundred million and like hitting that goals and stuff see even like the big tech tech stars with

  319. Like, with one bill and stuff.

  320. Like, you're not always going to hit that.

  321. Like, if you think about it, just think about 5,000 people in one room.

  322. I do that.

  323. A lot of people.

  324. Yeah, if you think about it, that's the best way to think about it.

  325. Like, people think, oh, man, I got to go work harder and all that stuff.

  326. But in reality, if you think of 5,000 people in one room, like, dang, that's still a lot of people.

  327. You got to be happy for that, at least.

  328. Be thankful for your fans and all that stuff.

  329. People that are, like, watching your videos.

  330. dude i'm super thankful for people watching my videos like even a hundred like likes and like

  331. 200 views is like still a lot for like that maybe at my christmas concert that i had at my school

  332. maybe like the maximum people was probably like 200 people there and if you look at that crowd

  333. there was still a big crowd room yeah no 5 000 is like remember when we went to see uh lehigh verse

  334. yeah that whole stadium

  335. that whole stadium was sold out

  336. 10,000 people so you take

  337. half of that whole stadium and you

  338. think that many people like look

  339. saw your stuff but then you get into

  340. looking at like how many people engaged

  341. like one thing that I

  342. noticed is people

  343. people tend

  344. to retain and watch through

  345. a lot of the stuff like when we watch the

  346. analytics I'll show you the analytics for this episode

  347. it'll be dope but

  348. But, yeah, you just you got to be thankful.

  349. You got to put it out.

  350. But you're going to offend somebody.

  351. You understand?

  352. Yeah.

  353. Everybody's going to like your stuff.

  354. It's going to take it out of like and just take out the proportion.

  355. Someone is going to be something.

  356. Yeah.

  357. They're going to clip just a little portion of this episode and be like, he was talking with his son about what?

  358. Like, yeah, like they just be doing the most.

  359. But for all these people over here that are worried, there's all these people over here that are going to be like, wow, that's a great conversation.

  360. Like, you have to understand, even like the Andrew Tate people my age and older just heard of Andrew Tate.

  361. Like, he just wasn't in our Internet.

  362. He's not selling the class to us.

  363. It just didn't exist.

  364. Because he started, I feel like, I think he started mostly on Instagram.

  365. I heard he got banned from Instagram.

  366. and then people started finding him then making more on tiktok then became a whole social media

  367. thing on tiktok i'm pretty sure it's not like all that stuff he had a webcam business yeah so he had

  368. women getting naked on camera making porn oh no yeah porn yeah yeah and it's like it gets all

  369. weird and stuff you know what i mean like whether or not they were actively about it or whether or

  370. he was like a pimp and forcing them to do it everything so you people say that if you just

  371. didn't say it as direct as tate the things that he says aren't misogynistic it's just how he says

  372. it but no like he also knows the game he knows if he says something wild and he says something

  373. outlandish we're gonna react exactly it's gonna go viral and stuff so i was looking a little bit

  374. into the affiliate links things like that um i could see why he's so wildly popular yeah but

  375. it's like i could very easy just go on and start flaming him and do everything i haven't done enough

  376. research i don't know i just my job my job in terms of i will not lose or trying to find some

  377. sort of success out of the failure is make sure you understand you sound like you completely get

  378. what you're yeah what you're bringing in and what it how it could be bad or whatever like

  379. if you can listen to andrew tate and still respect women like i i'm not researched enough and i

  380. really don't have the power to tell you okay you can't consume that at all just like make the

  381. decision when you take anything this goes for anything when you take it in like you got to look

  382. at both sides you gotta look at all the sides one of uh the things uh my man charlemagne the god

  383. said um something like if you have 10 people you know you're gonna have four people that

  384. i'll never like it four people that'll love it and two people that are still undecided and you

  385. need to focus on those people that are undecided and get them to like it those if you spend time

  386. in comments like engaging with people about what they don't do dude people of tiktok is brutal

  387. yeah tiktok really is brutal stuff tiktok is like if you're on youtube shorts you get all

  388. these hate comments like on tiktok and stuff it's just tiktok people are brutal like there i remember

  389. there was like i don't know what was this guy's name but with somebody like the charlie d'amelio

  390. you know who she is like the biggest tiktok star was on there and then you had some like like guy

  391. that was making like these stupid videos too just like charlie d'amelio and he like people were so

  392. heated that he was starting to surpass him then they made like all these different things like

  393. all these videos of people saying all these other things about it and it's like finally he surpassed

  394. it much charlotte emilio and i think charlotte emilio started getting fans started getting mad

  395. about it like it's so dumb like you're watching somebody just do dances all day but it's so

  396. addicting at the same time yeah dude you gotta that scares me it depends what type of like

  397. a tiktok you're watching like there's different sides like it's like the scary thing about it is

  398. like if you watch a certain amount of videos it pops up what you want to see exactly like it just

  399. knows like it starts to know you more about you and stuff like i'm pretty sure like people were

  400. for a long time they were trying to shut down tiktok i remember when trump was the president

  401. yeah no they're still they just put something where government phones or they're trying to

  402. put it where government phones can't have it on i mean yeah so do you understand why not not really

  403. i understand some of it but not as much as i would want to know it's an invasive app dude

  404. yeah let me tell you a couple things that scare me about tiktok and this is me just being an adult

  405. you have to understand my parents came from like don't post anything on the internet at all it's

  406. It's always going to be there forever and type stuff.

  407. No, your mic.

  408. So your phone, your camera mic is recording us right now.

  409. Yeah.

  410. And if we talk about something too much, it's going to show up in the algorithm.

  411. That already happens with Google and stuff like that.

  412. Yeah.

  413. TikTok is like, all right, so in order to make your stuff relevant, we need to get your location, where you're going, your messages.

  414. We need to be able to read your context.

  415. We need to be able to read your snaps.

  416. And like, I don't know.

  417. I'm not a developer.

  418. i work with developers but i could just go by what they say like yeah why does it need so much

  419. permission and uh you know another thing is america doesn't like when other governments

  420. have things so i guess it's like the chinese government yeah i'm pretty sure that's what it is

  421. if you told people in the 60s 70s that we were letting a software from a foreign government and

  422. we just put it on our phones and gave it access to whatever you're crazy you know what i mean

  423. but now everybody's like i'll be up if i can get more likes so yeah what scares me is you i don't

  424. you can't leave the app like if you hit leave it just goes to another tiktok you know what i'm

  425. talking about like at least on my android i have the i do the back swipe on the right back and

  426. it like you have to hit it twice in order to leave the app or something like that i don't know but

  427. no it scares me how addicting it is too you know like social media is terribly terribly we'll put

  428. it this way none of the people that made facebook twitter any of that they don't let their kids use

  429. yeah no that's enough for me to twitter's been coming like towards a different like a more like

  430. adult website like before it was like they started out like mostly for like older people like how

  431. facebook is starting out it's turning more into like a worse version of facebook like it's having

  432. all that stuff like that's i feel like some people are calling towards reddit a lot more because you

  433. can see a lot less stuff than you would want to see scrolling on things reddit is fire you know

  434. you know i got nana on reddit oh yeah that that's a lot of things because didn't nana say she wanted

  435. to leave twitter just because all the stuff that's been popping up on there lately yeah it's kind of

  436. like only fans right now that's kind of what it is jesus christ oh man um no i i think she

  437. has the right idea i use reddit because you can search for internet that you like but i'm not

  438. really on i i got off facebook i'm back on there now a little bit like promoting the podcast but

  439. like it doesn't really feel genuine like yeah i haven't interacted with that audience people i've

  440. interacted with people on facebook i've kept facebook messenger up so all these people that

  441. are like oh you left facebook dude my name's there you can click message you could send me whatever

  442. uh but i don't know you're never gonna make everybody happy yeah for real um i think the

  443. best thing to do is just make yourself happy like i don't i can't know what other people are

  444. gonna think or other people are gonna like but like it's just a lot of things that like you're

  445. not gonna like they know what other people are gonna like but as long as like a light at least

  446. like a how do you take like half your split like half your followers apart like in 100 see if you

  447. have a hundred followers not your whole 100 followers not everybody's gonna interact with

  448. that video not everybody's gonna like that video at least maybe i want to say 25 of your followers

  449. will love some of your videos and will like watching them but the other percent that you

  450. have is probably gonna just scroll right past it and it's just whatever yeah that's also why you

  451. got to make an engaged audience you can't have people who subscribe just based off whatever i

  452. can already tell you right now people are gonna really wish you're back on the show people are

  453. gonna really want you on the show just because you get it so much earlier than i did that like

  454. you just can't give a damn what people think yeah like it just if they're not gonna pay your bills

  455. or feed your family yeah why does it matter at least i'm having fun and you guys could have your

  456. own opinions everybody's gonna have their own opinions everybody's gonna share different

  457. opinions with what you have and what you do you just gotta just like do what you want to do

  458. like what you want to like yeah as long as you're not hurting anybody yeah as long as you're just

  459. like just chilling doing your own thing as long as you're doing that and no one's no i wouldn't

  460. care but if you're gonna get a bad comment you're having fun doing it remember i'm gonna look back

  461. and like get one bad view on this episode right here like what does it matter like i had

  462. fun doing it and all that stuff so like i'm having fun talking imagine telling a kid they don't know

  463. what they're talking about like imagine a grown man in the comments talking about i don't know

  464. what jayden said about pokemon man it's first edition second edition was the bed watch i don't

  465. know for real get someone but hey we'll hope it it creates that kind of thing from there

  466. no i mean as long as you're not hurting anybody yeah um so if you ever want to use the studio

  467. um this is yours man i got a oh hold up i got you right now oh the microphone

  468. this is a sure sm57 yeah this would be very nice and towards atlanta when i'm living there

  469. that is fire yeah all right man well i am going to wrap it up so according to mr beast everybody
