Legacy In Motion - Bo Proctor - #0066 Transcript [00:00:08.270] morning good evening good night good afternoon don't give me copyright flag though no no no you [00:00:15.380] can cut this out i sounded like a zombie just yeah in order to grow you gotta have like some [00:00:26.310] kind of goals people go through stuff you take a hit within your company within your personal life [00:00:43.290] or whatever and the thing about that is always fighting through it you always gotta fight through [00:00:49.350] it no matter what i mean so for sure gotta jump through the hurdles like saquon would [00:00:56.060] that's gonna go viral watch [00:00:59.760] mic check one two recording yeah yeah cameras leaning sideways a little bit [00:01:08.000] i gotta fix that real quick yeah there you go that'll save me 20 minutes later in post [00:01:21.170] see me 20 minutes later in post just fixing the camera a little bit right there i should leave [00:01:27.410] that in the edit too a little bit what's up what's up what's up with you man morning good [00:01:31.950] evening good night good afternoon yeah whatever time you're listening in wherever you're listening [00:01:36.670] from shout out to the google listenership apple spotify and youtube if you're watching in say [00:01:43.110] what's up the multi-cam setup we were just talking about a little bit earlier i have the pleasure of [00:01:49.950] bringing you today, multifaceted entrepreneur, creative musician, clothing designer. I mean, [00:01:58.230] there's many different outlets to creativity hits. And thank you. It's interesting because [00:02:04.390] there's a philosophy behind it all. When I first saw you on, it was either Phases, John, or [00:02:13.460] DJ Focus podcast. It might've been either one. I think I was on Focus first. [00:02:19.740] right so yeah i think i i heard of you and new high through that yeah so okay they're doing some [00:02:26.100] stuff followed on and now i'm with one of your tens of thousands of followers on the the social [00:02:33.600] platform and stuff so i wanted to delve into who is the not the character you know what i mean not [00:02:41.490] the persona but really the mastermind creative behind it the man behind the myth yeah i dig it [00:02:49.430] Well, you already know it's Bo. [00:02:53.810] Bo Proctor, Proctor Valley to Dawn. [00:02:57.070] Yeah. [00:02:58.190] My name is Mike, Michael. [00:03:02.670] I just, I got a creative spirit and a hustler spirit, man. [00:03:07.870] I just go out to get it for real, for real. [00:03:10.810] I don't like getting told no. [00:03:12.890] So if you tell me I can't do something, I'm going to try to prove you wrong. [00:03:17.450] And that's just my push. [00:03:19.430] it's been like uh probably going on a year since we tried to get on the podcast [00:03:25.760] yeah uh just with different things going on you were promoting something back then i said [00:03:30.900] man i'm i'm booked up right now i gotta i can't get you in for that project but let's definitely [00:03:37.200] keep in touch and you've switched lanes since then i mean is the content creation the the main [00:03:43.620] thing now i mean like most of your focus not really the content creation is is the fun aspect [00:03:51.440] of it um i'm just playing around on social media at the end of the day i i have fun with it i do [00:04:01.060] what i do now there's there's more of a strategy than just having fun with it like if that's what [00:04:07.200] oh yeah i learned that's what we want to push it that's what we want to tell them but like i [00:04:11.040] definitely all right so all right check it out i wanted to push my music that was my main focus [00:04:18.040] pushing my music pushing uh the aspect that i make hip-hop you know i mean but then that became uh [00:04:26.940] what the world is today like a lot of the things that you would push through hip-hop gets pushed [00:04:34.300] on platforms like podcasts or like yeah i mean different type of content reels or videos and [00:04:41.760] stuff like that so it was like all right i need to find my way of doing that or recreating what [00:04:49.020] people do and throwing my sauce in there so that's that's where it started and just finding [00:04:56.080] that algorithm finding where it breaks and finding the way to go about continuing that [00:05:03.720] is what i've been doing definitely so but um yeah no i'd say that's just a mentally a side thing [00:05:13.360] man i'd rather do things in the physical like i said music is my passion so i'm always going to [00:05:19.960] start with the music um the clothing right now has been a very good heavy side push that i've [00:05:29.230] been on right now so well let's plug the clothing if you're listening we're only about four or five [00:05:34.610] minutes in switch to the youtube man just just watch this one man bow bow is image bow is image [00:05:40.690] you gotta you gotta watch this one so you made this yeah definitely so um this is legacy brand [00:05:48.750] www.legacystorebrand.com [00:05:53.090] www.legacystorebrand.com [00:05:55.930] I did it again [00:05:57.320] Legacy Brand Store [00:05:58.440] Yes [00:05:59.140] www.legacybrandstore.com [00:06:02.180] So [00:06:02.820] This is a custom design [00:06:04.560] That I made [00:06:05.240] It's legacy written [00:06:06.880] Over my handprint [00:06:08.720] Or a handprint [00:06:10.560] That is your print [00:06:12.120] To your legacy [00:06:12.980] So [00:06:13.660] Yeah [00:06:15.080] Definitely [00:06:15.740] Definitely [00:06:16.400] Everybody is here [00:06:18.440] To leave a legacy [00:06:19.200] that's how i see it we're all here to leave our mark on the world we're all here to leave our [00:06:25.820] imprint on our region on you know where we're from so my legacy will be remembered some way [00:06:36.320] shape form or fashion yeah fashion we gotta hope for a little bit right i don't i don't think too [00:06:43.260] much about what this show like i don't want to say i take it for granted but there's legacy in [00:06:51.470] telling the stories of people in the area and to reach an international audience for people that [00:06:59.730] are ultimately local we've had people from all over and we've had people of different walks of [00:07:04.590] life but for the most part i don't think that people are going to be listening like i you get [00:07:11.410] caught up in the world nowadays where everything is like three days and then it's ancient yeah so [00:07:17.450] you think who's gonna listen to this but when i do check the numbers it's like oh they're picking [00:07:22.910] up that video from last like half of my views in the last week or two were not from the newest [00:07:29.420] episode they're from older stuff ah so you start to think okay people are going to be listening to [00:07:34.880] these for a while yeah it leave it lives forever if you think about it like all right so the things [00:07:43.880] that i remember growing up on uh the music or the videos that i remember world star the world star [00:07:51.820] was a thing growing up right world star still lives today in some realm you could still find [00:07:59.160] the world star video that's their legacy you know i mean i will not lose podcast will live [00:08:06.320] way further than where you see it that'll be your legacy that you're leaving behind you know i mean [00:08:12.720] and then the beauty about your podcast is that you get other people up like myself to tell their [00:08:18.400] legacy and yeah yeah it's like that behind as well it's like a whole web of legacies that's [00:08:24.240] wow man yeah but for the audio listeners checking in bo has a light gray it's like a not like a [00:08:32.180] jumpsuit what fabric is that this is uh the same fabric is a nike tech so if you're into the nike [00:08:39.000] then you'll definitely be into the legacy tech it's got a white text legacy and a script written [00:08:47.640] over a black handprint the whole hoodie is light gray and black so that's dope does that have a [00:08:53.280] hood coming up on it or is it like uh yeah there you go it's got like the little neck kind of like [00:08:58.860] this shirt that i have on yeah that's dope i just got a tommy hilfiger something or another but [00:09:05.380] maybe i could get you to put some some gear together for the show man i definitely got you [00:09:10.180] for special episodes we have going up so the music the clothing what's the relation there [00:09:16.020] in terms of is it just a creative outlet that was a good question all right so um with the music [00:09:23.080] uh it was my heavy push and i wanted to create a legacy and put other people from the lehigh valley [00:09:30.780] on so i created an album called legacy music legacy music did what it did i put it out about [00:09:39.780] a year and a half maybe two years ago but it did what it did and um i felt like continuing that [00:09:46.760] push so that's when i created the clothing to go along with that album and it just sprung from [00:09:54.240] there and everybody gravitated towards the clothing and and liked the brand and i just was [00:10:01.900] like you know what this is the thing this is the time let's go i think people need to recognize [00:10:07.660] that and dig a little deeper on that like even social is not the same as it was like it's not [00:10:14.940] all about reels like when reels first came out that's all everybody was doing like the algorithm [00:10:20.120] pushed that oh yeah it's definitely switched right now it's about photos and comments anything with [00:10:26.780] engagement anything that would transpire it would cause conversation to transpire so any type of [00:10:34.840] post in social media that would have a lot of people engaging and into one conversation [00:10:44.080] That's where it's at [00:10:46.620] Got you [00:10:48.070] Now that makes a lot of sense [00:10:49.670] I know I'm trying to think of some stuff I've seen go viral this year [00:10:52.950] That was a little jewel for y'all [00:10:53.970] My dude Isaiah [00:10:56.710] Did you see he was in the [00:10:58.230] You know Isaiah Girls? [00:11:00.550] I think maybe [00:11:01.810] Shout out to Isaiah [00:11:03.170] Husky Pride [00:11:04.450] But he was at a Eagles game [00:11:06.550] The Eagles Falcons game [00:11:08.310] The Falcons jersey [00:11:10.170] Just talking mad shit [00:11:12.770] oh he had to go viral with the with the camera going nuts but it was at the it was at the end [00:11:18.510] when they lost and he's yelling at people and zooming in on their faces and stuff i'm gonna [00:11:24.010] see if i can i think they cut the audio from it but i'm gonna see if i could clip that i'll ask [00:11:28.090] throw that in there yeah that's good people want to understand what there's like there's a formula [00:11:34.830] to stuff that goes viral but at the same time stuff that you wouldn't plan on like i was uh [00:11:41.430] i just switched shirts to throw on the podcast and i was looking at this one sweater i had [00:11:46.250] i went viral in it and i remember my wife was commenting like [00:11:51.250] oh that i don't like something with the collar or whatever like that like i didn't choose to [00:11:55.950] go viral that day yeah we were just talking about earlier you gotta you gotta present yourself [00:12:01.110] clean did you want to chime in pass did you did you want to chime in over there oh man i love it [00:12:09.340] No, I love it. [00:12:11.760] I just had to give, when you said, you know, going viral right now, [00:12:15.700] I had to give it a viral vote. [00:12:17.820] Vote. [00:12:18.660] Vote. [00:12:20.260] There you go. [00:12:21.640] Yeah, anything with brand. [00:12:23.120] It's funny. [00:12:23.960] I had a, similarly, I got into design. [00:12:27.320] I was doing audio engineering. [00:12:28.840] I was making music, rapping, and I needed an album cover. [00:12:33.800] It's funny. [00:12:34.260] people back from that area were era 15 years ago that was a rare commodity what's that i said that [00:12:41.700] was a rare commodity trying to trying to get an album artwork album artwork yeah way easier than [00:12:47.000] throwing in the ai or something like that but uh yeah there was a lot that went into it but [00:12:52.700] i found that lane designing and that was kind of the i was like all right this is the voice that i [00:12:58.180] could give to you know the the valley or whatever it is from signs on hamilton street to like [00:13:05.400] few people have logos that did tattooed that's major like that's that's like you said going back [00:13:12.360] to legacy yeah that's major but thanks for bringing me to that because i don't think about [00:13:18.980] it enough like i i live very much in the now in the moment i don't think so much about the past [00:13:24.380] or the future so it's like we're just making content right here like yeah we're doing well [00:13:30.280] with cameras and lights and all that because when you get into something that's like your purpose [00:13:36.060] or even just your passion you got two couple things there's stuff that you like to do [00:13:40.720] god bless if you could find a passion that's also your purpose definitely no but people don't [00:13:46.740] realize not only does the game change but you got uh it's okay to try different things and like you [00:13:54.140] said it's the time now for exactly the clothing yeah and mind you it's like it's the time for [00:14:03.560] everything i don't just limit myself so yeah the clothing is is in right now but i'm also like i [00:14:11.560] said still pushing the music heavily um a new album coming out on the way you know i mean new [00:14:19.280] content coming out on the way what's the new album called pieces of me proctor valley pieces of me [00:14:24.980] volume two i mean so that'll be dropping sometime this year let me work on it y'all [00:14:31.700] let me work on it that's cool we got a little lag between when this is gonna drop i'm recorded out [00:14:37.780] to like uh probably february oh okay probably drop a little bit later so cool around march [00:14:44.820] yeah yeah for those that don't know we're recording this uh though well i don't even know [00:14:52.060] like i said i'm very much in the now i don't know i know it's january but i couldn't tell you [00:14:56.720] i know i just had a birthday what's it like the 13th 14th i'll be in it man i just i just be [00:15:04.260] in here creating but run the gamut so what are your what's your passion what's your purpose [00:15:11.370] all right so my passion what's my passion my passion is to create that's it what's my purpose [00:15:22.960] to elevate i mean i can see that so yeah it's simple to serve because you have the label [00:15:32.110] so you work with other artists as well yeah i definitely i mean like sometimes that's hit or [00:15:40.130] miss but yeah definitely so i work with other artists um new high entertainment that's the [00:15:46.210] label it stands for never underestimate his or her intentions um i'm dealing with becky narvaez [00:15:55.000] leafy lb bread and myself right now currently on the roster um yeah and that's that no it's good [00:16:07.600] to put yourself in a position to guide others like some people don't have and there's nothing [00:16:13.320] wrong with it but not everybody could do things multifaceted yeah you know what i mean they can't [00:16:20.220] have this talent and like i try to tell people it's funny my son's into music and a producer [00:16:26.220] was telling him like learn the audio engineering learn stage presence like you don't know which [00:16:33.360] level of artist you're gonna be you get to be drake you gotta do all that you gotta bring the [00:16:38.280] whole package like drake's not just like that yeah there's a lot of training a lot of artist [00:16:45.320] development that goes on with that so if you could engineer your own mix that's gonna save you like [00:16:51.640] a lot of time and money yeah at least at least let you value your time so you could say all right [00:16:58.720] i'm good at this over here i'm really good at writing so maybe i don't even need to be recording [00:17:04.020] myself maybe i just need to work with an artist that could translate what i write so shout out [00:17:10.640] to you for putting the label together and having some some options there yeah trying to build a [00:17:18.240] team man it's not easy but it's definitely something that i ain't gonna quit on you know [00:17:23.200] what i mean so it's just i see so much talent throughout the lehigh valley and it's so much [00:17:29.920] people that don't get their shot and i just feel like we all deserve our chance i mean so you think [00:17:37.680] there's a lot more power for the the artists or the the like it always takes a team for those that [00:17:44.860] don't see off camera that was pat simpson off mike uh he's got a camera and then you brought [00:17:50.560] your manager through yeah so this is not just like uh like i said i didn't want to put you in a box [00:17:57.810] of like what's going on oh what do you i thought we were gonna get the manager to step to the mic [00:18:07.590] it's all good it's all good it's more mysterious if they're all mic but [00:18:14.490] we got another mic set over there in case you wanted to chime in but i just wanted to look at [00:18:20.670] the whole gamut and not just that but uh there's highs and there's lows i've been following you [00:18:28.080] on social for like you said probably about two years now definitely you know what i mean and [00:18:35.400] there's definitely a recent resurgence so that's why i said there's more to it than just i'm having [00:18:40.920] fun you saw something that worked you saw some sort of pattern even when i talked to you off [00:18:47.080] mic there's a science behind the stuff that like you you don't have to plan to go viral [00:18:53.280] well you've done it a couple of times so yeah that's that's not by chance like that's not luck [00:19:01.200] yeah i mean like all right so i don't know if there's any like real set thing that i'm doing [00:19:12.720] to go viral so to say yeah i mean but i will say it's the energy it gotta be the energy yeah i mean [00:19:20.920] uh every time that i do show face and i i show up to show out that's my thing i don't blend in i [00:19:29.900] stand out i mean like i make sure my presence is felt so i guess that translates on the cameras [00:19:37.340] that works well yeah i don't know i uh as far as my own journey i got people that'll reach out [00:19:47.320] there like hey you know so i saw this it's like it's weird people could follow you on social media [00:19:53.000] and you could make that up you know what i mean there's people that have accounts that aren't even [00:19:59.300] like it's a it's them doing it but it's not their persona it's a made-up name or something like that [00:20:06.300] and you see that people engage with that and figure it out this podcast dropping every week [00:20:13.090] and the little stuff that i throw in there about my personal life there's people that approach me [00:20:18.990] they're like oh you know i see you did this or you did this logo for her i'm like i forget like [00:20:25.150] i'm just i'm just creating content i'm like trying to get to know working who is michael because [00:20:32.170] like you said pictures and engagement people would rather just see something real quick get [00:20:38.840] the dopamine you're almost like a dopamine dealer at the end of the day i'm just giving out quick [00:20:45.460] fixes so if we have a you know half an hour 45 minutes an hour to really get down to what people [00:20:53.400] want to know ah definitely what kind of mentality does it take to take that risk to go out and be [00:21:01.250] like all right i'm gonna do almost anything you get into in 2025 is a commodity everything yeah [00:21:09.030] definitely i have two heat presses over there maybe you could show me how to use them you know [00:21:14.350] what i mean and then i can help you next thing you know i'll be making clothes and stuff but i think [00:21:19.390] that that sort of you you said something that stuck with me you said you like creating in the [00:21:24.490] physical yeah definitely so music's kind of spiritual kind of auditory like you yeah but [00:21:31.250] to me that's still physical that's something yeah that's you feel it yeah i mean it you can't you [00:21:37.190] can't shy away from the fact that when a good song come on that that make you feel happy you [00:21:43.030] jump up and start smiling you know i mean when one of them songs that come on and make you feel sad [00:21:48.990] you you sit alone in the corner and you start thinking about life yeah i mean yeah music is a [00:21:54.470] whole feeling you feel that you know i mean so it's physical now that makes sense that makes sense [00:22:00.900] i uh i listen to a lot of music man listen to a lot of music and i didn't even realize it [00:22:07.240] till spotify started putting out the wrapped you know what i mean they told you they're like yeah [00:22:12.200] you're wrapped up and then you're like oh wow that's what i was listening to well it's like uh [00:22:16.960] it tells you how much like uh top one percent of listeners like for how much music i listen to and [00:22:24.780] i don't even play it overnight like when i'm sleeping like i'm always attentively listening [00:22:28.860] when i have spot i don't believe in doing like ghost dreams unless it's like my boy then i might [00:22:34.200] be like all right let me just let it rock out on repeat for a little bit because i know how it works [00:22:39.300] but uh they they were like there's very few people in the world that listen to more music than [00:22:45.320] than you so that's another lane i'd love to get into with doing like uh you know a little bit of [00:22:53.960] a different lane than i will not lose definitely something breaking down the music specifically [00:23:00.400] that's dope pack this all up take it to a studio somewhere and kind of do some on-site stuff [00:23:07.140] cool yeah the last time i saw you was at the inner star awards yeah i think maybe uh last time i was [00:23:16.260] outside you you was outside at the inner star awards and i was just passing by yeah we had the [00:23:22.740] we had the whole podcast running from the vip lounge oh shout out to dj focus we had um we had [00:23:30.110] mics everything they were interviewing artists off the red carpet oh okay cool cool yeah that's [00:23:35.950] definitely dope inner star we doing anything shout out to the inner star folks definitely so [00:23:41.630] definitely definitely so what do you got on the calendar coming up well what does a day look like [00:23:50.540] or a week how many hands how many different things do you have your hands in oh man a lot [00:23:57.700] All right. So that's where the that's where the background folks is going to come in at me. [00:24:06.240] That's where the background folks is going to come in at. So all of the things that I do during the week. [00:24:15.480] One thing I do is I help at the caring place. I help doing a food bank and doing a give back with past Samson. [00:24:25.500] Shout out to him. He's in the building. Yeah. [00:24:28.420] would I pass [00:24:29.080] good job [00:24:32.600] we pass out [00:24:34.360] 50 to 100 [00:24:37.420] families every Tuesday [00:24:39.260] that's beautiful man [00:24:45.790] God bless [00:24:46.930] volunteering [00:24:47.910] definitely [00:24:50.290] so [00:24:51.750] throughout that [00:24:56.270] there's a few other people that I work [00:24:59.050] with as well [00:24:59.930] shout out to Talisha Smith [00:25:02.350] um and you know a few other good people that i work with but yeah as a collective we help each [00:25:11.490] other we just running around helping each other whatever needs done say that again big dog [00:25:17.530] a conglomerate yeah that's the word for it there you go conglomerate that's what's up [00:25:24.340] that's what's up for sure and i love it because you don't have to you don't have to ask anybody [00:25:32.510] to do stuff like if you're willing to work you're willing to put the work in i i haven't found [00:25:39.950] anything that's just real easy that you can you know make a living off of just doing like like [00:25:46.950] we had a valerie bidner up here and she was like she's a actress 13 plus movie credits and it's [00:25:54.230] like what do you tell somebody young trying to get into acting and the parents are like well [00:25:58.950] we're just looking to like maybe do it every other weekend and put away money [00:26:03.130] for our college fund. It's like, no, every other weekend doesn't work. [00:26:06.750] Don't work with working out. Yeah. You know, that's not gonna, [00:26:10.690] you gotta be steady. You gotta be consistent on anything you do. [00:26:14.350] You gotta be consistent. Definitely. So definitely. [00:26:18.650] So what's some, uh, [00:26:21.890] what's some low points of just creation or entrepreneurialism in general? [00:26:29.340] Or like the risks you take, I mean, do you bet a thousand on everything? [00:26:34.080] Sometimes, sometimes I do. [00:26:38.920] That's the bad part. [00:26:41.020] Yeah. [00:26:41.760] Sometimes I do. [00:26:44.520] I've, like you said, I publicly displayed my highs and lows throughout social media within the last four or five years. [00:26:56.590] so it's no secret that when you know it's times that people go through stuff you take a hit [00:27:04.410] within your company within your personal life or whatever and the thing about that is always [00:27:11.310] fighting through it you always gotta fight through it no matter what i mean so for sure [00:27:17.520] gotta jump through the hurdles like saquon would [00:27:20.340] that's gonna go viral watch [00:27:24.020] not only does he go viral but he calls it yeah he points it out the stadium and then takes a swing [00:27:31.660] oh man there we go what's the sound effect [00:27:35.520] i'm gonna get uh i'm gonna have you i'm gonna cut that and i'm gonna paste it so i could push [00:27:41.300] a button and just bring that up that's gonna be part of the it's gonna be part of the show [00:27:45.840] but no it's uh i i respect the grind of putting out content and and doing social the one thing [00:27:57.040] i've shared this with you off mike the one thing i don't want to do is have to i don't want to say [00:28:02.700] be a slave to it because you're going to work that's still slaving to it but i don't want to [00:28:08.040] have to be up on something that i'm not interested in yeah i dig it there's a lot of people around me [00:28:14.480] right now that'll say the same thing that they don't want to be uh too involved in social media [00:28:20.980] because one they might not understand it or two that's just not what they want to do in life [00:28:26.700] and um yeah i get that i get that but i also tell them saying people like the things that you see [00:28:36.220] with your eyes that's what social media would want to see the things that you think in your [00:28:40.820] head that you would just blurt out that's what social media would want to hear yeah me and just [00:28:47.160] an early conversation i was having um with my my team my folks um and i was saying you got to be [00:28:55.820] controversial to go viral and i take that back you don't always because there's a lot of so uh a lot [00:29:04.740] of uh motivational speeches that go viral there's a lot of uh compassionate or or heartwarming [00:29:12.240] things that go viral so shout out to evan robinson he put out an apology back when they had that uh [00:29:18.540] boxing match definite definite shout out to him but you know he put out an apology for calling uh [00:29:26.190] the woman trans remember that whole thing that was going on yeah that's shaky though [00:29:31.430] the olympic boxing match you just talked about the olympic boxing match well no he came out and [00:29:37.930] first he put a post out was he wrong like was he was no he he was wrong and he apologized for being [00:29:44.930] wrong once he was brought new information to light oh he was like i apologize for saying it's this [00:29:52.970] you know first he came out with his thing you know people feel a way about a man versus a woman [00:29:58.130] as they should yeah but then when you come out and it's like okay and then i get all the other [00:30:03.330] stuff they were trying to throw but he was just like from from my perspective i'm sorry i said [00:30:09.550] that and this is that uh you know god gave you a burden to carry that i probably couldn't and [00:30:16.490] it went viral it went nuts he had 20 some thousand shares people from all over the world [00:30:24.410] reaching out to him you know it's great that you change your mind and stuff so [00:30:28.250] no stuff goes stuff goes stuff goes nuts but uh to to want to feed into i want to say negativity [00:30:39.760] because there's stuff that i get i could be passionately mad about something yeah complain [00:30:45.020] about it online but like i uh i'm on threads i have fun on threads and i forget a critique of [00:30:53.280] logo or something you know that i said was the most viral thing that ever went on threads and [00:31:00.100] everybody was arguing back on forth whether or not they like this logo you see but you sparked [00:31:05.380] a conversation for people to talk back and forth that's all it is that's really all it is nowadays [00:31:11.960] the thing with the podcast is they talk in uh they talk in my inbox they talk amongst themselves [00:31:18.700] like a podcast is a very you're not listening nobody's sitting in a watch party watching this [00:31:24.940] right now unless you throw one unless you throw one and be like look move up here and i will not [00:31:29.960] lose speaking of which let me see what i could do there's a lot that's dope yeah man but no it's [00:31:39.030] that's what i'm saying it's a it's a personal conversation where somebody's like okay i can [00:31:43.910] relate with him or maybe i can't or maybe by the end of the conversation if they're still listening [00:31:48.550] they're like man i know something about michael that i didn't know yeah i gotta tap in here so [00:31:55.860] i could comment but i don't got good reception down here i got barely any battery but sorry [00:32:05.590] missed this opportunity i'll throw it on in a second because we got a little bit uh [00:32:12.790] i like got a whole setup over there i should have thought about it i set that up to go live or [00:32:18.660] whatever but uh we'll get i don't know we'll we'll do something it might be a missed opportunity but [00:32:25.650] we got the same we got the same clip though it's all good we got the same clip no so like how much [00:32:31.670] of it is planned like uh when i said one thing adapts to the other there's traits to being a [00:32:40.390] rapper being an entertainer there's inspiring there's the energy that you give there's being [00:32:48.790] able to communicate and articulate things definitely you know um and i think that that [00:32:55.710] can apply to like having a branding like every artist regardless forget rap in music you have [00:33:04.230] to have some sort of image or some sort of thing that says that's unique about that person exactly [00:33:10.650] so you're saying how much of who i am was planned well how much of like knowing how much did you [00:33:20.240] carry from one thing to the other like it's not like you're starting brand new yeah not at all [00:33:26.860] not at all um everything gets everything gets carried over in some way shape form or fashion [00:33:34.440] no matter what i'm doing um start with my drive first of all but even with my creativity all right [00:33:43.440] so like i said my music transpired into the clothing um it everything has to have a grander [00:33:50.920] scheme so it doesn't matter what my next venture is my next venture would definitely tie into [00:33:57.220] where i come from you know i mean just like the social media yeah just like the social media um [00:34:03.960] it ties into my music it ties into my energy level on my social media is the energy level [00:34:11.560] that i have on my music that's what i display um it everything it it's all me it's all my woven [00:34:21.050] dna bro that's the that's the freeing part man that's what i try to get people to understand [00:34:27.050] And they're like, oh, man, wait, he doesn't have sponsors that he has to switch things up for. [00:34:33.970] He can just produce on his own calendar, have guests that he wants to have. [00:34:39.470] You know what I mean? [00:34:40.470] Nobody has to agree with it. [00:34:42.430] And not just that, I get to paint a picture. [00:34:45.600] Like, I'm going to have to shout her out. [00:34:51.230] I have to I'm going to check out all my phone. [00:34:53.150] but this woman i met one mutual friend through facebook asked if uh who cuts podcast reels [00:35:01.570] and i got tagged in it and she dropped a podcast today i don't want to mess it up [00:35:08.860] but the podcast is the hall closet i don't want to mess her name up i'll find it and i'll plug [00:35:16.040] it in in post but uh she launched her podcast today this is somebody i would have never been [00:35:21.940] connected with didn't know beforehand and now i'm listening to her podcast today she checked out my [00:35:29.160] page and i had just said that post that i put about like the people that reach out that say [00:35:36.500] like keep going keep doing what you're doing this inspired me the people that are gonna reach out to [00:35:41.680] you like yo i never knew that about you know i thought it was all easy i didn't i didn't realize [00:35:46.780] the gears are going behind the scene or i didn't know he did you know how many people tell me i [00:35:52.120] didn't know you do podcasts yeah i didn't know you do design yeah i thought you just did podcasts [00:35:57.860] it's like i'm glad it looks good enough that you think this is keeping the lights on [00:36:02.880] come behind it no this is my service to uh this is my service to whatever legacy we're all leaving [00:36:14.420] behind you know it's their talents i want to say god gave me but he gave me the drive to get [00:36:21.440] good enough at them you know nothing's just god given but everything is obtainable from work [00:36:28.300] no it's god given everything's obtainable through work definitely so for me i need god when i'm [00:36:34.800] at the low points you know what i mean like you you feel his presence at the high points he's [00:36:41.030] definitely there the whole time but this is not a super spiritual podcast i like i like bringing [00:36:46.690] people from different walks of life to see that we all have that fighter mentality there's all [00:36:53.510] you know like val said i've worked for everything that i have you know like definitely so i like [00:36:58.550] that it's messed me i want to say donna jean sorry i'm not taking attention away from you i want to [00:37:04.920] yeah look at that it's funny donna jean look y'all see this i just opened my facebook and that's the [00:37:12.710] very first top post what's the chance is that if i swipe up that's gonna be gone but yeah shout out [00:37:19.010] to the hall closet congratulations to donna jean on launching i believe she launched on january 14th [00:37:26.010] so this will be a top listened podcast by the time our podcast drops shouting her out but [00:37:32.970] if i never had the podcast there's so many people i wouldn't have met there's so many [00:37:39.590] lanes down you know like somebody's not interesting and hiring me for branding [00:37:44.570] besides somebody saying tony ortiz is a good person sit down with him for coffee i like the [00:37:50.540] way his mind works like the podcast is the perfect introduction to who you are let's have a [00:37:59.300] conversation let's it's i've i've grown it to the point where i could choose who do i want to take [00:38:06.500] eight to ten hours and cut up clips and select the perfect things and invite them as collaborators [00:38:12.480] like this is gonna go live on your page too that viral one that you called [00:38:17.580] what do you got on the calendar for the rest of tonight [00:38:29.200] um the rest of tonight i really don't have much on the plate it's a tuesday right it's tuesday [00:38:35.480] yeah all the games i was asking you that earlier okay i was like i think it's the 14th yeah i'll [00:38:42.560] be getting confused i'll be getting confused yeah i definitely was sitting here pulling that up [00:38:52.090] march 2nd at 12 p.m the ultimate streetwear expo spring edition will be um at the charter arts [00:39:02.030] school the executive arts school the the executive charter school executive charter art school yes [00:39:11.890] i'm on union boulevard in allentown so i'm gonna chop that up so we get it clean all right yeah [00:39:20.230] Let me say that one more time. [00:40:33.230] It's going to be dope. [00:40:34.350] Yeah, I was going to be in the house. [00:40:37.620] I mean, March 2nd, maybe we could maybe we could do a show from there. [00:40:42.660] We can set everything up. [00:40:44.770] That's far enough out that I could start thinking about it. [00:40:47.210] but for sure [00:40:48.790] have a [00:40:50.520] maybe we could even [00:40:51.760] live stream [00:40:52.480] definitely [00:40:53.680] we did from [00:40:54.920] the host there last time [00:40:56.380] you had who there last time [00:41:01.360] Eric the host [00:41:02.260] oh definitely [00:41:03.420] definitely [00:41:04.020] maybe I'll get him [00:41:04.880] to help me out [00:41:05.420] shout out to Eric the host [00:41:06.800] we did reggae fest [00:41:08.780] we did reggae fest [00:41:10.120] were you [00:41:10.840] were you there [00:41:11.740] I was [00:41:12.860] did I see you [00:41:13.240] did I see you there [00:41:13.980] I was cooking [00:41:14.660] I was making [00:41:15.800] that's right [00:41:16.720] that's right [00:41:17.260] I saw you when I walked [00:41:18.340] down to the car [00:41:19.220] yeah [00:41:19.660] Sweating like a pig over there [00:41:22.020] That was a good day [00:41:23.660] That was a good day [00:41:24.960] Shout out to Mike Fresetto [00:41:26.320] Apparently [00:41:26.980] I don't know [00:41:28.220] Let my listeners chime in [00:41:29.520] Apparently I sound like Mike on the phone [00:41:31.600] He does [00:41:33.020] Oh my god [00:41:34.800] This guy [00:41:35.460] Them two sound like twins [00:41:37.400] I had to look at my phone three times [00:41:39.800] I'm gonna go back and listen to the episode I had with him [00:41:42.460] When I had him up here [00:41:43.480] We'll go back and listen to the episode [00:41:45.300] And see if we sounded pretty similar [00:41:47.820] Yeah you guys do [00:41:49.460] that's wild that's wild but again man i want to push how freeing it is to be able to have your [00:41:56.320] own voice be your own person not have any pressure i mean for me it was like even things like growing [00:42:02.900] my hair out you know in my 20s i was like nobody's gonna hire me like you're always thinking in the [00:42:08.720] back of your head what is it what does it do it took 2020 man 2020 was the year i was like you [00:42:15.540] know what i don't care about nobody else's standards to nothing i'm gonna just do what i [00:42:20.020] feel like doing i mean to an extent like like we were saying i still made sure my fingernails were [00:42:26.720] trimmed before we got on there you can't be like i just do whatever and stuff but you're walking [00:42:31.680] around tacky but as far as uh online as far as social media and how i approached and presented [00:42:41.580] myself online oh yeah i'm gonna just do whatever i don't care yeah i'm gonna do it all you have [00:42:46.840] to trademark black and miles yeah i saw something i see i see some stuff that i don't like i'll go [00:42:53.280] by i'll see it and i'll like it real quick but i don't get in the comments like you were saying [00:42:58.920] about elon musk could give away a billion dollars to everyone and still have i was like i'm not even [00:43:06.940] been doing this math like this because it'll get you confused and then you go comment and that's [00:43:12.220] where it starts right there i got you i just wanted you to comment i just wanted you to comment [00:43:17.680] that's one thing i could say you do the engagement bait well whereas some guys they'll just like [00:43:24.320] they'll go on a design thread and they'll be like yeah i love canva like come on you're baiting [00:43:28.860] people like you know what you're trying to do but one of my conversation is fun to be a part of one [00:43:34.920] of my biggest um debates every year every year i do it you can ask a few local guys around but i'll [00:43:42.040] say i'm the top five local rappers i'm the best ain't nobody rap better than me man what starts [00:43:49.640] up a whole big uproar every year i've tried to avoid the top five conversation on this podcast [00:43:55.880] for since i started for two three years who do i think is the best two rappers well i'm gonna say [00:44:04.980] and i'm gonna cut that part out no watch watch i'll do like little like it speeds by like we [00:44:12.240] just talked about it but it was redacted i'll beep it and stuff like that but that's fire [00:44:18.000] no that's gonna go viral i can say on my spotify rap you know what this will set up here's what i [00:44:22.860] i will say this two local artists were on my spotify rap top five so there was two local [00:44:30.120] artists and last year there was a number one that was my local artist so i do listen to a lot [00:44:34.880] of local music that's fire i love when the top five goes nuts and people don't know who to pick [00:44:43.380] i do that to go and be like okay let me check out you know what i mean i've heard i've heard of new [00:44:49.660] people but you'll throw you'll say something like that and then figure out through the list like i [00:44:55.460] i want to check out all y'all yeah that's what well if a whole bunch of people are saying somebody [00:45:00.140] that i never heard of i'm gonna check it out if it's readily available sometimes they name people [00:45:06.040] i can't find you on google i can't find you you got no presence on spotify so i'm like all right [00:45:11.860] maybe they're tagging a facebook but this person has a name i'll go to the facebook and see if the [00:45:17.620] people talk anything about music but there's a there's there's about 35 top five uh but uh no [00:45:26.440] it's good i look i don't rap anymore but i have a mic and whenever people are like nobody does [00:45:37.160] anything for artists or anything i pack up all this equipment go to artist studio you know shout [00:45:43.660] out to phase we did his breakdown of the zero to one album that was just off this that's a video [00:45:50.000] that exists now that if you go and you search it comes up like it's part of the legacy and it's a [00:45:57.300] monetize video so it's sharing revenue with the artists so maybe not a lot of people are doing [00:46:04.480] stuff but don't like but there's somebody doing something yeah there's a lot of people doing [00:46:10.120] stuff like let's be honest there's a lot of people in radio that but at the end of the day [00:46:14.480] radio is a business too yeah and you gotta play your cards right to get in the radio [00:46:19.420] i mean if you have a hit you don't really gotta play cards like if you're holding on to a [00:46:25.290] ace royal flush i mean i'm not a poker player but there's certain ways to get in you can't show up [00:46:31.910] to the casino with no cards no money and be like let me borrow your cards right let me do what's [00:46:38.590] up now if i got half a deck of cards because i've been saving and doing it someone might meet you [00:46:44.500] with the other half and that's what people don't understand realize yep they don't get that part [00:46:50.480] they just think that the music is just supposed to get there like it's supposed to pop right away [00:46:55.920] it doesn't happen like that not at all i haven't seen it happen for anyone but no i don't know [00:47:03.120] i'll i'll agree there is a mentality that needs to be taken out like you said we work with everyone [00:47:09.400] we grow we're just driving around trying to see people help there is platforms for that there is [00:47:15.740] you know the algorithm doesn't have to push it but people know in the conversations off these mics [00:47:20.880] people know who passes what he does what he's about you know what i mean like it's you don't [00:47:27.240] have to put on the persona even if he wasn't posting that stuff somebody's posting it for [00:47:34.660] him of him being there like i remember i took a year off facebook and people were still tagging [00:47:42.080] me in stuff like i didn't have a page i wasn't posting but people would still see me and be like [00:47:47.340] oh you're doing this you never these camera everybody has cameras you don't know if you're [00:47:52.000] gonna end up on someone's wall for what you're doing exactly yeah just do it keep doing it [00:48:01.520] god uh you want to chime in go ahead y'all gotta realize i can't see you he i just see his eyes [00:48:09.860] looking over there oh bad bad yeah no definitely definitely he's killing it we locked in i like [00:48:19.910] to get the first i like to create the long form content because definitely yeah more people will [00:48:26.510] see the clips more people will be like oh wow they was up there goof they see a clip of us [00:48:31.390] laughing they'll be like oh they didn't talk nothing serious at all but then there's gonna [00:48:36.130] be a few people that'd be like nah i want to check out that you know i mean see what they [00:48:40.510] was talking about now we're gonna get more than a few yeah we're gonna get more than a few [00:48:44.110] yeah i believe in that actions speak louder than words but i'll let you get another chance to [00:48:59.130] promote anything else got coming up and then uh we'll kind of land the plane yeah definitely i [00:49:05.730] want to promote first and foremost mark goods llc wholesale and liquidation um i want to plug [00:49:15.990] in the fact that we got the ultimate streetwear expo coming up on march 2nd um legacy music [00:49:26.060] Legacy music [00:49:27.040] Legacy [00:49:27.660] Legacy [00:49:28.220] Legacy [00:49:28.780]
