  2. can cut this out i sounded like a zombie just yeah in order to grow you gotta have like some

  3. kind of goals what's up what's up what's up good morning good evening good night good afternoon

  4. wherever you're listening in thank you shout out to my google listenership apple podcast spotify

  5. youtube thanks for watching in we had a very special guest i know i say that every week but uh

  6. this is this is going to be a fun one in terms of entertainment i have the amazing willie woe

  7. of the willie woe show film producer comedian entrepreneur you know yeah yeah all over

  8. encourager the the mindset pick your head up self-growth you know so we're gonna have a great

  9. conversation to build willie's part of the gentlemen that come by shout out to the barbershop

  10. chronicles uh those guys that uh we get together and kind of talk about building and just have the

  11. conversation you know outside of social media see what's really going on so um i'd be interested to

  12. hear about some different stuff you have going on right now the willie woe show is the biggest thing

  13. promotion and you were we were on the phone about a month month and a half ago and we were talking

  14. about everything that you had coming up we said this will line up perfectly in january and then

  15. right before you hit the ground running you came off a vacation i was looking like a day or two

  16. after we got off the phone and i'm like man this guy's all over the place so go ahead introduce

  17. yourself and tell me about your travels we'll start there definitely man thank you very much

  18. for having me on the show i i definitely um i'm a fan i watch and i love what you do um i love the

  19. quality and i love the content um and i love the guys that that you introduced me that i met you

  20. through um the barber pill lawrence evan all those guys are great guys man yeah yeah i love i actually

  21. spoke to uh to lawrence earlier telling him like i miss him because i've been so busy um i had to

  22. on vacation though that that's something i've learned um which i try to instill and and speak

  23. to other up-and-coming artists about is knowing yourself knowing your character defects knowing

  24. your uh defaults and knowing when it's time to rest and you have to detach i mean i'm sure you

  25. can you can understand when you have a show like this constantly promoting constantly marketing

  26. constantly doing interviews constantly networking you have to detach and i have a family so i also

  27. have to make time for them as well um like i was sharing with you earlier though the funny part is

  28. that's the part for for me and most people i know that's the part we enjoy you know um the running

  29. and all the work that behind the scenes yeah it gives you a reason to do it yeah the family and

  30. the time you know like like we both said we have something going on right after this yeah yeah

  31. we're doing this to promote the bigger picture so it can all feed back into there yeah yeah going

  32. back to what you said about self the the reset you have to detach and reset and what i did was

  33. i took a few weeks with the family um but the workaholic in me also kind of incubated some

  34. some some work in there because also i'm working on a documentary um so we went to florida where

  35. i'm originally from had spoke with some family members did some interviews and and just kind of

  36. laid on the beach and relaxed and and thought out what the plan was for 2025 you know because

  37. sometimes when you when you're in this business you get a run um and when i say the business i

  38. mean the entertainment business you get a run and in the beginning it's uphill but once it catches

  39. it starts to take a momentum of its own and you know what i mean and then and then you find

  40. yourself finding it difficult to keep up so what i try to do is pace myself and accelerate properly

  41. when needed but also maintain a level a level amount of speed and focus so if that means going

  42. on the beach or getting away even my family knows i'll take a quick three-day getaway just to be

  43. alone so i can clear my thoughts and see things properly you know what i mean i need to see the

  44. entire feel because if not i've been in the entertainment business in entertainment business

  45. for over 20 years so i've made i've made my share of mistakes you know and a lot of it came from

  46. rushing and not taking the time to to prepare and think think things out fully you know what i mean

  47. yeah um and this year is going to be incredible so i'm i'm kind of pacing things on a monthly

  48. basis i have a new a new strategy a different way of outlining projects and and uh working more with

  49. other people you know i have a new company with alfonso todd the foundation where we help

  50. mentor other artists that are interested in acting and um music um voiceovers anything

  51. entertainment related it's like a consulting firm you know because i've always wanted that

  52. coming into the industry starting in music production and going to college for it and

  53. and we spoke about that my transition into um working with in the major studios with platinum

  54. selling artists and then um transitioning into acting which led to stage which led to commercials

  55. so you know there's so many opportunities that that are out there but we lack mentorship you

  56. know for sure especially in the entertainment business yeah you know we just had uh just had

  57. valerie bittner yes i saw did you see that episode yes i loved it man and i love the way you outlined

  58. every segment you know what i mean like i really was impressed by that that was a new goal i started

  59. doing for for putting things together but the showing people that it's not like she said on

  60. the show two percent of people are your you know leonardo dicaprio julia roberts like there's a lot

  61. of entertainment think about how many tv shows are on yeah hulu and stuff there's there's a lot

  62. of actors there's a lot of work out there but you may not be to the point where everybody remembers

  63. you from a specific role or something definitely definitely one thing i do is i go into a role

  64. not looking to be famous not looking to be recognized i go into the role wanting to

  65. please myself i want to be the best at that role and it sounds crazy and it took me a long time to

  66. get to that point but it what it does for me is it takes away a lot of the pressure

  67. you know what i mean what i've learned because like you just said with all the the tubies and

  68. the hulus and all these streaming services that are offering crack all these different um i hope

  69. we get a check for that but uh offering all these opportunities it's it's like it's getting

  70. saturated so um another thing that i i reinforce to those coming into the industry is two things

  71. one be true because when it's so overly saturated like that the only thing that can really make you

  72. stand out that no one else has is the ability to be you you know and and what i do is like you

  73. learn to take your craft seriously so when i'm watching a tv show for instance with with a friend

  74. or my family or my lady um they're watching the show and the plot and all that stuff and they're

  75. entertained i'm watching the actors i'm watching the little quirks that they added into that

  76. character i'm studying you know what i mean oh yeah oh no i know exactly what you mean i'm watching

  77. the editing yeah it's bad i'll say they're gonna throw like a lamp or something red on the left

  78. yeah how do you know that because there's something cold and blue on the right that's

  79. right that's right that's the way they're going to move this set and then she'll be like i can't

  80. watch this with you yeah it almost takes the fun out of it it does it does but you have to stay up

  81. it's interesting because and let me see what you think about this but we have this whole creative

  82. thing that fuels i think a lot about like as a creator there's really nothing original i just

  83. take inspiration from other things but there's this overarching trend of i don't want to say

  84. where the money's at just where people's interest is at at the time so you have to watch the new

  85. stuff that's coming out and i can't be just in my basement creating the the industry will move along

  86. so it's the same with tv if you're not seeing okay what are the stories that they're picking

  87. out what are they you know like there's only so many original stories just with different

  88. characters and actors yeah so you're inspired by that acting yeah that part yeah i love acting

  89. i love theater i love stage more than anything man um i i've been through some things in life

  90. um unfortunately but fortunately because it taught me a lot it gave me the heart and the morals that

  91. have so i i carry that into you know my world today with with helping others um but to that

  92. point i totally agree and what i've learned too because at one point i was like that i didn't want

  93. i was stuck in my ways i didn't want to see or transition into all of the new wave whatever it

  94. is um namely ai um and then one day something clicked and i said you know what this is what

  95. the generation before me said about cell phones or about you know microwaves or whatever um

  96. at a certain point you don't have a choice you can either move with it or get out of the way

  97. so um i still favor the classics i love watching a lot of the older actors and older shows because

  98. when you go back to looking at like fred astaire and dean martin these guys would do dance routines

  99. in one take there was no camera switching where they're doing multiple takes or angles i don't

  100. even think of that bro it's serious it's serious like and i mean they were flawless like for three

  101. minutes straight you know what i mean um but also too like you said you can't reinvent the wheel all

  102. you can do is add your authenticity to it and that's what i decided to do with the willie woe

  103. show you know and i have no qualms about telling people like a lot of it i took some ideas from

  104. shows i enjoyed like the dave chappelle show in living color that's the vibe that it gave me yeah

  105. that dude vibe and it gave me like i can attach to these characters yeah i um that was my initial

  106. impression and then with the like laugh track and everything with the production yeah yeah it added

  107. a lot to it because sometimes you watch a flat like people go straight to social and they do

  108. skits even if they do multiple camera angles they don't have the soundtrack behind it right right

  109. And then the scene, not to give anything away, but when you're driving and you're dancing and the person pulls up to the side of you, I'm sitting here thinking, that's not green screen.

  110. He's really bugging out in real life.

  111. So I was like, that's interesting to see the content put that together.

  112. but you know i was surprised at the production level while still keeping that um the rawness

  113. it speaks to today's time people don't want to see the overproduced you know if you if you open

  114. with cinematic title people are like how long is this yeah yeah 47 seconds man you know they want

  115. to see a still image but that's great man that you love the craft and yeah same thing i get to

  116. do with the podcast you know how many podcasts are there yeah there's a lot now but there's a lot

  117. anyone wants to listen based around the you know we could have done negativity even comedy yeah we

  118. could do comedy right right the laughs would even just the reels will go crazy yeah but i want people

  119. to be able to look back a year and a half and we have something to say that could inspire even if

  120. somebody's not going to be in acting that's why i brought the parallel up between podcasting or

  121. video editing and all the different parts of it but what really interests me like you said

  122. finding self finding when to relax kind of knowing what you're capable of and now your

  123. vision isn't fueled by having something to prove right it's more i know what i'm supposed to do

  124. I know that God will fill the path for me to do that.

  125. Ultimately, now I just need to brace for the ride.

  126. And be consistent and be consistent.

  127. And that sometimes is the hardest part, even for me, because you have days when you just don't feel like it.

  128. But what I've learned to do, and I'm so blessed, man, because, you know, my father wasn't around.

  129. And I have this, I won't say the same old story, but similar stories to a lot of people that have gone through a lot of trials and tribulations in their lives early.

  130. So I've taken pieces from my grandmother, you know, really good friends.

  131. I learned what good friends are.

  132. And I had a good friend tell me one time, he said, be careful of what you allow in your eyes and in your ears.

  133. So now what I do is when I'm scrolling through social media, first, I limit myself to social media because I don't want to be too overly influenced by what's already going on.

  134. I want to stay authentic to myself and I want to stay as creative as I can and as raw as possible, because the best I can give you is me, you know, and hopefully you like it.

  135. If you don't, then I have to accept it. And I still wish you the best.

  136. But what I do now is I've toned down my scrolling follows to positive things and advice, Instagram posts and things that can motivate me.

  137. And it really does affect you. You know what I mean?

  138. And I get up even when I'm not feeling in the mood.

  139. If I scroll and I see somebody else just reminding me that you're going to have days like this, get up and do it.

  140. These are the times that you'll remember.

  141. And as time progressed, I learned these are the times that I remember.

  142. I remember when I didn't want to get up.

  143. I remember even right now, the Willie Will Show is officially premiering February 1st.

  144. And I was delaying it because there comes a point where you can be overly subjective or overly critical to your own work.

  145. Oh, yeah.

  146. And then it'll never come out.

  147. So, you know, someone told me, a friend of mine, he's a film producer, and he said, you know, you should do this, this, and this.

  148. Start here and do this.

  149. And I took the advice to a certain degree, but I also said, you know what, if I keep waiting and trying to make it perfect, tomorrow's not promised.

  150. It may never happen.

  151. So I'm going to give you all of me and my imperfections.

  152. So a lot of the skits are either situations that I've been in or have been told about or have seen firsthand.

  153. So it's reality, you know, and hopefully people enjoy it, man.

  154. I feel if nothing else in this world, bro, I really want people to just relax and laugh

  155. sometimes because this life can get hard, but we're here to inspire each other.

  156. Somebody's got to inspire, just like you do.

  157. When I heard your show and then when I spoke to other people who spoke about you, it was

  158. inspiring.

  159. I reached out to you.

  160. I haven't reached out to any other podcast and believe me, I have a lot of things that

  161. I've turned down a couple, bro.

  162. And I was like, no, I want to do this.

  163. And then when we spoke on the phone, oh, yeah, I can't wait to do even more business with you, man.

  164. And that's God's honest truth.

  165. You can turn the mic off and I'll say it again.

  166. That's good, man.

  167. I definitely want to inspire you, man.

  168. No, no, thank you.

  169. Thank you.

  170. Yeah.

  171. I put something out recently about how the people, just even what you just said, helped me realize, okay, there's a point.

  172. even with the the podcast let alone there's real stuff that goes on in life when you don't want to

  173. upload a podcast like sometimes your brain just shuts down and i'm like here i am posting about

  174. complaining about waiting an hour and a half it's like you know all the the cameras it takes time

  175. to put it together yeah and i wanted to there was something i thought i didn't want to interrupt you

  176. but that's one thing that has changed with the industry uh at least the viewer back when you

  177. know will smith was on top of the world he dropped every july 4th he waited a whole year for content

  178. for two hours of content to come out and like clockwork it did yeah but there is no more like

  179. game of thrones every sunday everybody's watching the same thing because it's a massive production

  180. yeah if people don't have stuff in between yeah like even two weeks me dropping my show

  181. is a long time without that a lot of the reels and stuff in between yeah like i don't even remember

  182. what happened two weeks ago yeah yeah it's it's it's the world of i don't want to say instagram

  183. but insta everything you know what i mean everybody wants insta no patience no um and and and for me i

  184. i didn't like it when i realized it but like you said earlier it's a reality it is what it is we

  185. gotta roll with it and it keeps you on your toes you know um i'm also working on a show

  186. called raising daddies because i have kids and when i saw this transit well what made me realize

  187. this transition that was really happening before my eyes was i started having to go to my kids

  188. to you know my my 15 year old or my 17 year old to tell me how to upload something or how to put

  189. this into a file and i'm like i know this stuff like i didn't have these problems before so what

  190. i realized was instead of me raising them kind of because of this technological insta age they're

  191. starting to have to raise me to a certain degree you know what i mean so um that's something i'm

  192. pitching during the pilot season pilot season in la is january i think like april so all the

  193. producers are looking for new content and stuff like that so if you're out there and you have

  194. some pilots and then this is a jewel which i shouldn't be sharing but we're here so we're

  195. going to share pilot season in la is happening right now so if you got something you want to

  196. pitch reach out to some agents i'll be out in la in march going out to do some work out there so

  197. i'm excited about that getting out there again yeah that's excellent man yeah it's always a

  198. hustle it's always a something and that's that's the thing there was a great quote not to keep

  199. plugging valerie's episode but she said you have to love it like you said it you love acting yeah

  200. When the when the bag is not there, when it's not pilot season, when you're on the low end or even just something happens in life, you could be at that.

  201. People don't realize you could be at that highest point of everything going right.

  202. And then on the inside, be like, I'm really worried about this or this is going on or something real happens.

  203. yeah and people are like well you know you should be happy it's this it's like you know

  204. anything it's it gets rough man um i've had some tragedies in my life at some of the highest points

  205. of my life um i've had opportunities that i've walked away from which i'm glad i did now that i

  206. can look back and see why i did it even though i didn't understand then um and i get that question

  207. a lot when people know me from movies i've done you know way back to working with tupac you know

  208. as far back as like like i said 20 years ago or working in the studio with the fujis and things

  209. of that nature they're like well why aren't you why didn't you keep going why did you take a break

  210. why'd you why'd you back up and i did not like what i was seeing not not specifically with them

  211. but the industry at that time and i just didn't it wasn't for me at that time i needed i needed

  212. some clarity i needed to get off this train and let me let me grow a little you know um one of

  213. the things i did learn was i didn't truly in my opinion become really good or consider myself a

  214. professional actor until i stopped chasing the bag so i don't mind i love theater one of the

  215. reasons i love doing stage is because when i'm on stage i feel free you know um television is

  216. different because you know they stop cut you know you got the director yelling at you if he's had

  217. a bad day i don't know his dog bit him or something but it when it's on stage man you got your lines

  218. you got the audience it's one-on-one it's it's authentic it's genuine and there is no stop there

  219. is no let me do that over so i just feel that i i feel me you know it's just it's an incredible

  220. it's it's an incredible feeling you know yeah if it feels like home yeah yeah so it became it wasn't

  221. about the bag and then i realized i had gotten better you know i had gotten better at the craft

  222. And then I started taking the craft more seriously and I wanted to get more into it.

  223. I wanted to learn more.

  224. You know, I still take classes.

  225. I still study and I have years of experience.

  226. You know what I mean?

  227. So I really, I definitely agree with that.

  228. I definitely agree with that.

  229. It's not about the bag.

  230. It's about doing something you love and waking up every morning, not even waking up, going to sleep thinking about it.

  231. Not because you want to, but because it's just always on your mind.

  232. It's like singing in the shower.

  233. If you get in the shower every day and you sing and you enjoy getting in the shower and singing, then you probably should be a singer.

  234. because you love doing it you know what i'm saying like i'm gonna say quit your job at the hospital

  235. but no you'll find that i saw i saw a post or something which i don't know how if i agree with

  236. it a hundred percent but it said you know you'll you'll find a way i don't think that happens for

  237. everyone yeah but i don't think you should not try right because there's too many of this or

  238. that you know it's it's saturated and stuff i still think kids should be working with cap cut

  239. and all this stuff because go back 20 years even if you had talent you weren't guaranteed to be

  240. in movies or things like that you you named tupac you know not everybody's that special to

  241. reach those heights or that i think it was like a dozen movies i mean he had you like you said he

  242. had a run he was still on his run yeah yeah yeah no s&p so you never know what you you have to

  243. embrace and you have to be grateful when those runs happen you have you can't just think okay

  244. i made it i can relax now you know very good point at least not for me yeah there's always um

  245. i think for me the first time i was teaching a class and working and running a business

  246. and i said i'm going to do something i recorded to myself i said this is the end of the week

  247. i did it i put my mind to it and then it's funny because that's the last time i remember having

  248. like an evening free not not working like once i realized and got that taste like oh man i can

  249. actually accomplish a lot with goals and with consistency and we're just doing a little bit

  250. and progress over perfection you know yeah um you keep adding to the system and you'll find a way

  251. if you love it hopefully things work out i like to think that if it's a if it's a just purpose

  252. like you know not all my listeners are spiritual they know you know i say god gives me a purpose

  253. to whether it's through the business whether it's through these interviews you know i'm giving people

  254. like shout out to fredo when we put his brand together that's his livelihood drain surgeons is

  255. what he does and to have two trucks with artwork that i did kind of validated at least in his mind

  256. he'll tell you too he was like man once i saw like once i put that on the truck i was doing it

  257. that's inspiration. That's, it's just another form of it, you know?

  258. Yeah. Yeah. I know for me, man, one of the things, um, not,

  259. not to get too deep in spirituality, but I, I,

  260. I pride myself on being as honest and trans, um, transparent as possible.

  261. Um, when people ask me, why didn't you keep going? I always reply,

  262. the devil bought me a drink. And, and in that analogy,

  263. it was me getting to a point where I I saw to to grow in the industry at that time I had to

  264. make a decision a moral decision do I want to be a part of this or do I want to take the other road

  265. and it's funny because that road or that decision pops up a lot throughout life that's just life

  266. I've learned um but one of the things I I look back on is sometimes I say man I wish I had done

  267. this because i would i'd be sitting in malibu right now on the top of them well not now

  268. praises um prayers to everybody that's going through the fires out there but i'd be at the

  269. top of the mountain right now um and then i'm one of the type of people i always look at the glass

  270. half full so in retrospect i say ma'am but you know what look at the journey i've had i've sat

  271. with multi multi multi millionaires you know in in private conversations in in private places and

  272. just had a nice time i've i've been to the lowest you know with with substance and alcohol and and

  273. been homeless um i've i've had a journey that i can look back on that many people would

  274. would would give their right hand for so i've learned to love the journey because at the end

  275. of the day that's all you have the money the bag that you get it's going it's going to dissipate

  276. at some point you're going that bag gets lighter you know and other things come with that bag

  277. some people don't want that problem you know to have 650 million dollars in your account

  278. and now your cousin's looking for you because he wants to borrow 640 of it you know what i mean so

  279. the journey is where the for me where the joy is you know i can look back and say yeah i've

  280. had conversations with tupac i've sat with wesley snipes and patrick swayze i've i've driven

  281. around having it you know personal conversations with lauren hill i still know this one they still

  282. call me over here and and that's because of my faith in god which is strengthened and the

  283. relationships that i've built and the respect that they still have for me because of the just

  284. the decisions i made then you know what i mean like it's a rough game but it's also just it's

  285. it's an analogy so to speak of life because either way you're gonna have those decisions you know

  286. what i mean this is just us dealing with it in entertainment and it is a little rougher so that's

  287. why we wanted to start the foundation to try to at least give an opportunity to to people to get

  288. some some uh real advice some real advice if you need it you know what i mean we're not saying

  289. we're perfect and we know everything but with our relationships we only deal we try to only deal

  290. with people with integrity and respect and and that will take accountability for um the things

  291. they do you know that's really big for me man because i didn't have that you know so i said

  292. to god one day i said you know what instead of me crying about what i didn't have why don't i take

  293. this opportunity to give it to other people you know what i mean yeah for sure even like uh just

  294. passing it on to the children or saying that you know there's there's nothing wrong there's nothing

  295. wrong with whether it's entertainment music rapping you know hip-hop has aged with all of us

  296. If you're doing something where, I don't want to say it's not your purpose, but I think anything, not even just alcohol or drugs, but a hobby can be addicting, gaming can be addicting, and it's not doing anything to fuel your purpose or have you go to sleep at night, you know.

  297. um but those down times like knowing that you almost realize like okay not just this too shall

  298. pass but this is part of the journey and i'm gonna feel a joy that reciprocates this feeling

  299. of negativity that's something that helps me get through it like i won't always feel like this and

  300. i'll remember feeling like this when i am at the top so i remember to be grateful there's nothing

  301. worse than being given everything and being like man these mics don't even match like yeah you know

  302. you know what i mean yeah yeah his podcast looks better than mine oh i've been there and done that

  303. yeah i've i tried to take the approach of realizing that it could always be worse

  304. because there are times in my life where it has been and then i know people where

  305. you know i lost a son not to not to bring that but just as a point i lost a son to suicide and

  306. i used to really you know that that was difficult yeah but i also know parents who have lost two

  307. or three in a year so that's when i have to get on my knees man and i'm i'm grateful you know i

  308. pray for them but i'm also grateful for my trials and tribulations you know what i mean like i know

  309. anything can happen. Tomorrow's not promised. So I'm going to live today as, as good as, as,

  310. as best I can. And like I said, try to help somebody, man. And then I love what you said

  311. earlier about setting goals. That's something else that no one showed me that I ended up

  312. realizing was very important. So I have a sheet that lists I think it's like maybe 15 days out

  313. sunday to saturday all the times of the day every in half an hour increments and i jot down what my

  314. plans are now the moment that i don't do that for the week or for the two-week section segment

  315. things get chaotic and then i get overwhelmed and then i go into depression or starting to feel

  316. stressed and then you know people will remind me oh well what's on your schedule and i'm like okay

  317. that's the problem but whenever i got it organized as best as possible because things are gonna

  318. happen um and i know what my goals and my intentions are for this week or for next week

  319. then things run a lot smoother you know you got a birthday coming up no i just had one man i just

  320. had a capricorn then sagittarius sagittarius december 1st yeah yeah okay because you sound

  321. just like me with having everything listed out you're a capricorn yeah my birthday's in two days

  322. oh nice after this airs congratulations man that's what's up that's what's up but i always

  323. remind myself and it's funny because i have a list of you have to have the list not only does

  324. it increase your chance of getting it done but everybody that i the guests that i'm attracting

  325. when we had fredo on here he talked about how when you go to bed you you know you like you know

  326. if you did what you were supposed to do yeah yeah like that fulfilling feeling is what you

  327. should be chasing you know and it's good it it fulfills your night you know if i didn't do what

  328. i was supposed to do today or if i didn't if i deviated from the plan um i don't rest well

  329. and i've like i said i've learned to just be honest with myself when i don't rest well i don't

  330. make great decisions or i allow myself to get overwhelmed and i'm not well yeah so there are

  331. times when i will shut it down i don't care what's going on around me because i'm no benefit to

  332. anybody else if i'm if i can't you know make sure my glass is full you know that just recently came

  333. to me even though i knew for a long time in one of my meditations it would just i gotta feed myself

  334. like i know um shout out to my keisha guider i'm gonna get and she's actually gonna interview me

  335. coming up but she put out a book called uh self-love is the best love yeah and it was her

  336. story about just finding how to love herself outside of things but she put it in a format

  337. and into a book where you can apply it to yourself what you need to do to feed your inner child what

  338. you need to do to you know get out of that downward spiral and i'm not saying everybody

  339. could just will themselves out of depression you know it doesn't work like that right but

  340. most people that go through it go through it more than once and to preach the the mental health to

  341. know how to deal with it is so huge and if i can help you out with that that's a cause

  342. my for my birthday it was asking me what cause i was looking for a local that that deals with

  343. something so if you have something with like mental health or suicide prevention we'll talk

  344. after the show and i'll link my donations for definitely for stuff like that yeah that's that's

  345. really important too man and recognizing it i mean not just the mental health portion but like i go

  346. back to knowing yourself and being honest with yourself because like you said you know things

  347. of that nature any feeling even joy it doesn't it doesn't stick around 24 7 you're going to have

  348. spurts of joy spurts of sadness spurts of confusion what you have to do is just take the

  349. time to recognize it acknowledge it and then try something different to address it and that that

  350. remedy might be temporary but it'll get you through at this time and it may not work the next time so

  351. you look for i love growing and learning man you know what i mean like you said you still take

  352. classes yeah that's what life is about life isn't about for me it's not about just sitting in this

  353. chair doing the same old thing every day on my front porch i'm going to walk around the block

  354. today you know i want to meet somebody new today i'm going to try a different role today when it

  355. comes to acting you know um i'm i'm looking at doing ebooks whatever i don't want to close any

  356. door to not just opportunity but to learning and living you know i love i like to go to different

  357. beaches i love the beach i'm from i'm originally from florida um i grew up in new jersey um lived

  358. in new york for a long time and now i'm in pa but i enjoy traveling and going to see different

  359. beaches it's all the same sand and water maybe some palm trees but it's it's different i want

  360. to see what the vibe is there so i i take that into every aspect of my life you know and um

  361. And taking that time to be honest with yourself and know that I need to eat better.

  362. All these things play a major part, not only in your self-esteem, but in your mental thinking.

  363. Because if you're talking acting, man, you've got to be able to hit these lines.

  364. You've got to be able to remember you're blocking.

  365. You've got to be, you know, and I've been there where I didn't do it.

  366. Yeah, yeah.

  367. And missed some major opportunities because I wasn't prepared.

  368. You know, I took it as a joke.

  369. or too many people told me that i'm a natural so i don't need to study i got this yeah yeah right

  370. until you get in front of a robert de niro or somebody who does have it then you you it's a

  371. little rough you know what it is for me uh in cap cut when you go to do a reel they have a ai now

  372. that can remove filler words wow and everybody thinks they're a great speaker until you start

  373. adding the likes and the ums and we were like why why do you talk so slow on the podcast because

  374. listen when you you don't realize till you're playing it back yeah that oh wow now it doesn't

  375. even sound they once you take all the pauses and the ums and the ahs and play it back and the guy's

  376. skipping in the video and stuff so i'm like man for ai to point it out we used to do uh you ever

  377. here at toastmasters no great for speaking i'm not going to spend too long on it but it's

  378. essentially a group of people that listen to each other speak one person brings a timer every time

  379. you use a filler word another person has uh uh something going so you know how far you are it's

  380. like the light switches from red so kind of like i'm looking at a timer not to give all the secrets

  381. away but we have stuff going on so part of moving the conversation is realizing what time we are

  382. where we could go so that it's all cohesive but that's just something that comes that's loving

  383. the craft like you said the the little nuances of having backlighting on even having a video

  384. in itself we don't need to have that this could reach people just there are people just listening

  385. that have no idea what we even look like yeah they're just enthralled in the story you know

  386. how does that so i'm curious you know i look good so just let them know that so you're gonna stop

  387. listening right now go to about 35 44 on the youtube to pick up now um how do you get up like

  388. you're on the beginning of a run so i mean you said at 2025 you just have to be prepared for it

  389. you're more prepared than previous runs and things that you have and i'm sure we could go on for two

  390. hours about the mindset and stuff that it takes that but how do you climb how do you climb up

  391. how do you get to being right before your i don't want to call it your big break but you you're

  392. you don't want to talk about your your next achievement that takes you to that next level

  393. where you meet the new devil what i do is the first thing i do is i pray that that's major for

  394. me um i pray before i came on this podcast that i say what needs to be said to inspire or encourage

  395. or help somebody or just say don't make a fool of myself you know what i mean yeah um the second

  396. thing i do is i take time in the morning to breathe and um and then i prepare like for me

  397. My year is written out on a month to month basis. I know what needs to come out this month, what needs to come out. It's just a general outline. And then I start filling in inserts in between as to how I'm going to get to this next goal.

  398. So I know that the Willy Wonka show is dropping February 1st.

  399. So over the next two to three weeks, I'm going to go heavy with promotion, street promotion.

  400. I need to reach out to some people for assistance because, you know, a part of growing is also working partnerships.

  401. And there are people that like publicists, my publicists, my agents and everybody needs to be on this on one accord.

  402. The other thing I do is I'm always open to other opportunities.

  403. You know, I strongly believe in God, so whatever presents itself.

  404. But then I take the time to decide whether it's right for me and whether I can fully commit.

  405. I've had to turn things down that I really wanted to do because I know I couldn't do them wholeheartedly.

  406. And then I was at a point where I took every opportunity I could, and I almost drove myself crazy.

  407. You can't do that.

  408. No, you know, because—

  409. I did drive myself crazy a couple times.

  410. I didn't even learn the first time.

  411. I come with paperwork, though, Tony.

  412. I got paperwork to my craziness.

  413. I'm bipolar.

  414. I've had a radio station and a show and all kinds of stuff where I was the bipolar brother.

  415. We should do something on that if you're still into it, man.

  416. Well, we can talk about it.

  417. See, that's an opportunity.

  418. I'm ready to go with you.

  419. For sure.

  420. Yeah, we can definitely talk about it, man.

  421. I know some people that have some opportunities now.

  422. And that's another reason why the foundation helps.

  423. Because I get offered opportunities for many things in entertainment that I can't do.

  424. or i'm not available to do or someone actually i know can do it better and would would have more

  425. respect for the opportunity you know what i'm saying so why not why not share it that was all

  426. that was all this week for me i literally told somebody um she knows who she is i don't know

  427. if she's listening but i said you know i have an idea of what you're asking me to do i have an idea

  428. the time commitment let me get back to you and figure out if i can do that you know that's

  429. something that i can't drop the ball on on you know checking this specific email or whatever it

  430. is so right even um today two things came through i had uh two new orders and one

  431. phone call and i told them all i'm not available till monday it's my birthday weekend i if i'm

  432. letting you know i'm not available so if you need it by sunday you can't have it i'm just not your

  433. guy and um you know it's it's great because you want to help but the path has been so like as long

  434. as you're praying and you're putting yourself in rooms and places that you need to be i still do

  435. stuff um at least close to pro bono where it's more like you know at cost because nothing's free

  436. nothing sustainable like time none of it right right so i pray that okay by me doing this or

  437. putting my name on this or being a part of this does it help grow the overall picture does it

  438. you know does it speak to who it needs to speak to i've said before the negative stuff

  439. is how you go viral right the the somebody tuning in somebody's going to reach out to me

  440. or reach out to you somebody that lost a son you know somebody that's bipolar i've been open about

  441. that on my podcast as well too and i've said you know there's times where i almost feel my job is

  442. to show that you can manage this and you can be a good person because the stigma that we have of

  443. bipolar not to digress too far but people don't even know what it is yeah i've done whole monologues

  444. and i don't promote them but the right people find them they got a couple hundred views on

  445. youtube and i get a couple messages of saying you know what maybe if you're saying therapy

  446. has something to do with it i'll give it a try or you know i feel the same way is that what it is

  447. it's a lot of people don't even know they're bipolar yeah just being aware of it is half the

  448. battle so yeah and it's rough it gets rough um one thing i love you said that um the negative

  449. stuff is what makes you go viral but what what i've learned is the positive stuff gives you

  450. longevity for sure because you have you you get the respect of a lot of people that trust what

  451. you say and and and to further go into the whole bipolar thing what what i did was i took my

  452. i won't say character defects but my bipolarism or whatever however you say it

  453. And I put it into my acting. So I was able to write scripts. I was able to write plays. I was able to recognize the bipolar aspect of business partners just today.

  454. ironically i had a situation over the last two weeks where we we were presented with about six

  455. different events major events and they were rushing us to get certain things done and something didn't

  456. sit right with me but i ran with it to support my team but i kept saying this is something's not

  457. right this isn't right i'm not really feeling this now i only bring that up because we spoke

  458. about goals and schedules and setting things you know so that you can maintain that heart from

  459. rolling down the hill too fast. You want to maintain your speed because of someone else's

  460. desire to push, you know, these, these corporations, they want, they want it now,

  461. they want it now. It kind of caused me to delay, um, other projects that I was working on or am

  462. working on only to get to the point today where it's like, you know what, this isn't going to

  463. work. So, you mean I just wasted two weeks, even though I kept telling my team, this isn't going

  464. to work this isn't going to work but you also have i had to allow them to see this on their own

  465. yeah you know what i mean and i was prepared for it that's why i told them today i said okay just

  466. like you just said i said the next two weeks is the willie woe show i have some things that need

  467. to get finalized you know what i mean like before before it hits the air with the marketing and

  468. other decisions but you have to you have to set your mark sometimes and put your foot down and

  469. say no this is what i need to do and this is what has to be done yeah no matter what presents itself

  470. what opportunity because you could you could drop the whole what is it a bird in the hand beats two

  471. in the bush you can drop the whole bowl of fruit loops you know trying to grab some sugar smacks

  472. or some some oreos you want one cookie but you just drop the whole bowl of fruit loops you know

  473. so yeah i'm learning man and i love it i love learning i just like to share it with other

  474. people so i definitely thank you for giving me an opportunity to be here man and do that

  475. yeah definitely get to talk about the artist foundation mentorship give people kind of an

  476. idea of your mind state and what goes on because when they check out the willie will show that you

  477. guys understand this is acting right you guys yeah please do on the show yeah well they're

  478. gonna see many different versions of me so just know that the whole the characters yeah the

  479. bipolar you haven't seen none yet oh it's gonna get crazy yeah um but it'll be on youtube for a

  480. while maybe for about i think the run is 10 to 13 weeks maybe a season and then we're we plan on

  481. We're actually talking to some people out in L.A., which is why I'm going out there.

  482. So it may it may do some reruns for a while.

  483. But first, you can catch it on YouTube at The Willie Woe Show, W-I-L-L-I-E-W-O Show.

  484. But it's all one word, which which kind of sucks, because when I created the name, which was given to me, Willie Woe, when you when you enter it into the search bar or whatever, all this Willie Wonka stuff come up.

  485. Yeah, yeah. And I was going to I was going to talk to you about that.

  486. I might be able to help you with that.

  487. Yeah. Thank you. Because I wasn't sure. I was like, you know what? I don't know if that's good or bad, but I trust in God. But the foundation came about with a friend of mine, Alfonso Todd. He's an event curator.

  488. Yeah. Shout out to Alfonso. He's been doing events out here for, I remember, 17 years ago. And he might have been doing it five or seven years then.

  489. So, yeah, yeah. He he was one of the first few people that put some of the artists on some events that I when I moved out here from Jersey and we both decided that the industry and some of the things that we've gone through in the last few years dealing with people that weren't respectful or they had some some just a character wasn't wasn't all in for the good of the people or the artists.

  490. um so what we did what we we decided to to work together and create a um a consultation company

  491. so if you're an artist you want to be an actor you want to be a singer a rapper um you want to

  492. work behind the scenes as a director you want to be a writer anything in that aspect of entertainment

  493. we will give you consultation we will open our rolodex of networks and clientele and people

  494. that we've worked with over the years to help guide you we will advise you you know um yeah

  495. that's pretty much it you know we give back to the to the community we have some events coming up

  496. we have an event in lake george new york i believe it is may 2nd 3rd and 4th and if you go to the

  497. artistfoundation.rocks um that's our website and you can see a list of the events you can

  498. rocks rocks r-o-c-k-s okay yeah you can go there and you can see um a little bit about me a little

  499. bit about alfonso um and the services we provide um and i'll tell you you know who played a major

  500. part in that um lawrence the barber phil lawrence yeah i'm friends with a famous rapper um out of

  501. new jersey uh do it all salute to do it all from laws and underground um the whole the whole low

  502. family. And what he does is he's also now the councilman in Newark. But once a month,

  503. he pulls men together from the community and they sit down and men talk to men about issues

  504. they're having. They get advice from other men. And when I joined the group and went on a couple

  505. of occasions, I was blown away. I was really blown away. And I was so inspired and encouraged. I came

  506. back up here and I ran into Lawrence at the gas station. I was like, hey, man, what's going on?

  507. And we caught up and I say, hey, this is what I want to do. And he said, oh, come by the barbershop.

  508. on friday and lo and behold i get there and he's already doing it and from then on i was just

  509. amazed man and and it was really good because we don't see enough of that we don't see enough of

  510. the positive energy of the positive people out here like isaiah like evan you know um that that

  511. don't mind giving you the truth about your thinking whether you're right or you're wrong

  512. And the thing that I love, last plug for the barbershop prodigals, everybody has different opinions.

  513. We've had conversation with cops.

  514. You know, we've had conversation with newsmen.

  515. Yeah.

  516. All in the same room.

  517. Yeah, yeah.

  518. You know, Trump, Kamala, whatever it is.

  519. Girlfriend, wife, whatever it is.

  520. Wives, absolutely.

  521. Yeah.

  522. Absolutely.

  523. but yeah there's uh there's a couple big things this'll i have uh well you're fresh off of travel

  524. you're fresh off relaxing ready to go back our listeners could hear about how you do have to rest

  525. and and water your roots for me what i realize is that everything that springs out of me

  526. needs me to be nourished otherwise i can't feed 100 100 and that's my that's literally my new

  527. year's resolution for 2025 is water my roots so we'll kind of end on that big things to come this

  528. i feel like this conversation can go a lot of places it's uh it's a shame we're limited and

  529. camera batteries end out but we could have done this live and it would have been fire man oh yeah

  530. oh yeah that'll come that'll come yeah tomorrow's tomorrow's always a new day man yeah we got it we

  531. got a lot of big things to come i'm looking forward to working with you um and and just

  532. go to the artist foundation.rocks and you can see all the events that's coming up hopefully we can

  533. get tony on a couple of our panels as a guest speaker um and also too you can find me on

  534. instagram and social media the willie woe show or just willie woe sounds good man sounds good

  535. Don't click on the Willy Wonka first.

  536. Yeah, don't click on the Willy Wonka.

  537. See what's going to happen is somebody's going to be listening on audio.

  538. A porno might pop up.

  539. Don't click on the Willy Wonka.

  540. They're going to be listening.

  541. They have no idea what we look like if we're tall, skinny, short, white, black.

  542. I have been called chocolate, but.

  543. All right.
