[00:00:31.660] You know what I mean? [00:00:31.960] If people don't grasp that concept, they're going to forever be stuck in that rut where they're like, okay, whatever. [00:00:45.210] Good morning, good evening, good night, good afternoon. [00:00:49.750] Don't give me copyright flag, though. [00:00:51.710] No, no, no. [00:00:52.250] You can cut this out. you want and get it done you know the ability to be hands-free for stuff is [00:01:58.260] it's uh it's innovative you know what i mean it allows you to you know still be productive while [00:02:02.420] you're still you know entertaining your secondary form of entertainment you know whether it be music [00:02:07.140] podcasts whatever the case is you know so there you go well you hear yep uh owner of drain surgeons plumbing yes sir jiu-jitsu [00:02:27.040] practitioner out of 10th planet allentown yep travels the world fighting the best of the best [00:02:32.740] in the world um while maintaining a business man you're just a real inspiration thank you i [00:02:38.420] appreciate that man it's it's uh it's definitely a challenge you know what i mean um every day's [00:02:42.100] a challenge you know you get up and you make decisions and i feel like the minute you get out [00:02:45.780] of bed it's going to dictate how the rest of your day goes you know i mean every decision you make [00:02:49.100] you know from that point on it's going to dictate how everything goes through you know i feel like [00:02:53.380] that's pivotal you know what i mean it's going to be the catalyst for how you interpret your day and [00:02:57.520] how you go about your day and you know the decisions you make in life you know what i mean [00:03:00.840] because every everything is like a domino effect you know what i mean it's not only going to affect [00:03:04.320] you it's going to affect everyone around you your loved ones your family you know what i mean so i [00:03:07.120] feel like you know you get up every day and you decide to say hey this is what i'm gonna do this [00:03:11.980] i'm about you know what i mean i want to carry out everything that i decide to do [00:03:15.000] and implement it voraciously you know what i mean and be consistent you know that's what it's about [00:03:20.140] you know yeah that's hard the consistency with everything i remember uh i was running on lunch [00:03:28.450] and we had an hour so it was about a mile drive to the trail we'd run two three miles come back [00:03:35.430] shower and my shoes had to be laced up by the time when a crop came and every day i remember [00:03:42.030] like 59 minutes tying the shoes and that just to me represented that consistency of like okay my [00:03:48.730] my tie is tied i was wearing ties every day back then yep but you're right it carries on it's it's [00:03:55.650] it's about mindset so i'm sure absolutely mindset rules everything i feel like uh if you uh if you [00:04:02.870] don't have a plan you know what i mean you're just going everything uh i mean spontaneity is [00:04:07.750] good you know what i mean but i feel like you know regarding your life and and your everyday [00:04:11.850] habits it has to be a plan you have to have a plan laid out and you have to implement it regardless [00:04:17.090] of the obstacles you're facing that day you know what i mean so you have to be like okay this is [00:04:19.750] what i intended on doing i'm gonna get it done you know what i mean regardless of the obstacles [00:04:22.790] i'm facing whether a client's late or whether you have a car trouble you know what i mean like okay [00:04:27.070] you know but this is not gonna stop me you know what i mean if i can get it done i'm gonna still [00:04:29.890] get it done you know i mean you just gotta go it full force you know so definitely it's about [00:04:35.910] taking breaks too it's funny we had gil thompson he was talking at his metaphor for that was going [00:04:41.730] to the gym after work you know when your body's absolutely and you know that you set aside this [00:04:47.150] is your regimen you know you can do 50 push-ups so when you quit at 35 you could just chalk up 35 [00:04:52.570] but like uh my coach used to say i'm not watching you like you can only cheat yourself [00:04:58.310] absolutely did you do 10 yeah i did 10 if you did eight like what it's not him that that's [00:05:05.090] gonna lack with it but yeah i i feel i completely agree with that what you do in the darkness is is [00:05:10.110] what's ultimately gonna be your your consequence you know what i mean so like you know everything [00:05:15.010] that you do and you implement when nobody's looking is gonna ultimately come down to your [00:05:20.090] daily habits how you look how you feel you know what i mean so if you're if you're dragging you're [00:05:24.170] in a bad mood or you're crabby it's like it's gonna say okay did you really get done what you [00:05:27.890] wanted to set out to do you know what i mean so now it's questionable you know you're like okay [00:05:31.030] did you did you complete the workout you wanted to do did you get those errands done that you [00:05:35.650] want to do you know what i mean is your checklist fulfilled you know what i mean you set out to do [00:05:39.010] whatever you're gonna do in that day if you didn't get it done it's going to reflect it in your [00:05:41.710] attitude you know i mean your demeanor everything you do the way you carry yourself it's going to [00:05:44.910] say hey listen i'm not 100 you know what i mean so i feel like that's important to really [00:05:49.090] adapt to those changes in life you know what i mean and uh carry out what you intended on [00:05:55.430] carrying out for that day in general you know you only get 24 hours in a day you know what i mean [00:05:59.610] People don't realize that, you know, they just think it's another day and they just [00:06:02.610] go about it nonchalantly. [00:06:03.930] But God put this time out there for you to utilize, you know what I mean? [00:06:07.850] How you utilize it 100% up to you, you know what I mean? [00:06:10.530] If you want to just lay back, watch TV, whatever, that's fine, you know what I mean? [00:06:14.050] But I feel like time is precious, you know what I mean? [00:06:16.390] Like that day today is there today and gone tomorrow. [00:06:19.090] You can't go back. [00:06:19.730] You can't alter anything you've done already in the past, you know what I mean? [00:06:22.150] So you have to, you know, approach life and all your goals vehemently, you know what I [00:06:26.570] mean? [00:06:26.710] And just say, hey, listen, this is what I'm set out to do. [00:06:28.930] i have to carry it out you know regardless you know what i mean and um i feel like a lot of [00:06:33.990] people fall short of that because they kind of and that go back to the mindset you know they [00:06:38.470] kind of they kind of give themselves reason why it's okay not to do it it's okay not to [00:06:41.630] you know carry on with that goal or that project you know what i mean they make excuses for [00:06:45.610] themselves and honestly yeah it's okay it feels good at the moment like okay yeah i talk myself [00:06:49.210] out of it i'm okay but in the end and this is where it comes from like long term you know [00:06:54.190] short you know that instant gratification versus delay gratification like yeah instant gratification [00:06:58.470] make you feel good. Like, okay, yeah, I gave myself a reason why I couldn't do this or I [00:07:02.130] couldn't finish this project or I couldn't tackle that project. But then in the long run, it's going [00:07:06.010] to kill you. You know what I mean? You're going to be like, hey, wow, I could have did that, [00:07:09.130] but I made excuses for myself and that's why I didn't carry it out. And it's going to wear on [00:07:12.490] you mentally. You know what I mean? I feel like that's a huge part of society today and realizing [00:07:16.930] that, hey, okay, I set out to do this and you know what, I told myself it's okay that I didn't [00:07:21.270] do it, you know, because, you know, I had a rough day or, you know, the dog did something to the [00:07:25.830] house. You know what I mean? Or you, you know, you know, it's just those little variables that [00:07:29.410] really can, can give a dynamic change to your day. You know what I mean? So if you don't, [00:07:34.290] if you allow that stuff to really impact how you want to go about your day and how you want to [00:07:39.110] continue your productivity, then you're going to fall short every time, you know, granted, [00:07:43.510] nobody's perfect. You know what I mean? But I feel like as a person, as an individual, [00:07:47.750] you have to conduct yourself in a way that's going to say, Hey, listen, you know, tomorrow's [00:07:53.230] not a promise you know what i mean and i want a better life so i have to i have to just [00:07:56.450] trudge through the tough times you know what i mean and carry out what you need to do to get it [00:07:59.990] done yeah keep going yeah and i think it's important to say like there's a scale for it [00:08:04.270] like i'm guilty of like i'll have an impossible task list let's say i need to get three done but [00:08:09.430] i got eight written down i'll get seven written down and i'll be seven done and i'll be like oh [00:08:14.670] man i didn't get that eight you know like you could beat yourself up for that so it's important [00:08:19.110] like sometimes my body will just shut down absolutely i get that you know you you know you [00:08:24.810] it's not like put it this way you know if you're making excuses you know what i mean if it's [00:08:31.800] uh whatever you're whether you're scrolling on facebook you know and you say next thing you know [00:08:38.760] it's you know you ever go it's 10 30 at night you want to be in bed by 11 you start scrolling [00:08:43.900] and it's like next thing you know it's 11 30 you're like damn 12 it's like after midnight [00:08:48.080] then you start getting anxiety like i'm not gonna sleep it's like you could have just made the [00:08:52.520] decision to turn all your stuff off 20 minutes before bed absolutely and i'm big on that i feel [00:08:57.600] like uh i have this thing where i where i save you stage your life and your daily habits you [00:09:02.440] know what i mean so if you know you want to be in bed by 10 30 so then tell you what let's let's put [00:09:07.140] that phone in the charger in another room far away where you're not distracted you know you [00:09:10.520] have the temptation to pick it up and check it you know what i mean and go on social media you [00:09:14.740] know because that stuff can can you know one thing about social media it's a great outlet you know [00:09:18.320] especially if you run a business a great outlet to put yourself out there you know and disseminate [00:09:22.420] content that's going to provide that's going to provide an advantage to your audience you know [00:09:26.060] what i mean but if you're just doing it to scroll you know what i mean there's no purpose it's going [00:09:29.980] to eat your time up you know i've this times i've been there and i'm like scrolling and you get so [00:09:34.260] deep into like something in a page and you keep clicking and you're like damn like i just spent [00:09:39.020] 45 minutes doing that and i don't get that time back you know what i mean so it's it's uh it's all [00:09:44.060] about managing your time properly, you know, so that you can be more productive because what you [00:09:49.720] do at night, you know what I mean? Whether you do it or not, it's going to reflect you until the [00:09:53.380] next day. You know what I mean? And you can get up and be like, damn, I never took out that garbage [00:09:56.740] and the garbage goes out today. You know what I mean? Like just the small things that, that'll [00:10:00.120] wear on you throughout the day. And guess what? Now you're going to be distracted thinking about [00:10:02.480] those things that you didn't get done. And now all those things that you neglected the night [00:10:06.880] before, it's going to carry on to the next day. And it's like a domino effect. You know what I [00:10:09.720] mean? So I feel like you have to make that time and, um, and just be, uh, just, just be kind of, [00:10:18.010] you know, determined to get that done so that you can say, okay, listen, okay. Now you can, [00:10:22.790] cause it's a good feeling. You get everything done. You're supposed to get done for that day. [00:10:25.550] You know what I mean? You're, you're on point, you know, you're like, I want to be in by 730 [00:10:28.410] and it feels good. You can go to bed and you had that, you kind of eradicate that overwhelming [00:10:32.470] feeling. You know what I mean? You're just like, okay, I can go to bed. This is done. This is [00:10:36.310] done i emailed this client back i got these invoices out estimates out whatever the case [00:10:40.270] is you know what i mean and you could like okay i was productive you know what i mean and that's [00:10:44.070] that's where we fall short so i feel like you know productivity is huge you know i mean doesn't [00:10:47.910] mean doesn't matter if you don't run a business it could be anything small you know what i mean [00:10:50.550] it's energy too like not to cut you off when i as a creative entrepreneur yeah energy is super [00:10:58.070] important so i could book time to say okay i'm gonna work on this logo but if my house is a mess [00:11:06.170] make a million things up you know i have to go somewhere or you know i'd feel better if the [00:11:12.250] laundry was running so let me just stop and run and get a thing of detergent so that can run while [00:11:17.770] i do my work it happens but if you're tired if you're angry yep you know there's times where i'm [00:11:24.130] like okay i need to manage my energy and my lifestyle just so that i can produce in at a [00:11:31.710] high quality content every single day. [00:11:34.210] Absolutely. Yeah. You want to be effective, you know? [00:11:37.980] Yeah. You gotta be, that's the thing. [00:11:40.880] Nobody knows like when I'm billing hourly, when you're at, [00:11:44.080] to tell the people a little bit about what you do, you're a plumber. [00:11:47.740] Yeah. I run my own plumbing business in Lehigh Valley. [00:11:49.560] I started in 2016. So yeah, I'm going on eight years now, [00:11:55.080] you know, running a business. It's, it's, it's been a rollercoaster. [00:11:57.580] You know what I mean? There's a lot of advantages, a lot of disadvantages, [00:12:00.320] but you know, there's a lot of stuff that people don't see behind the scenes that can really wear [00:12:03.360] down on you. You know what I mean? And trying to meet deadlines, trying to communicate with [00:12:06.560] customers, trying to schedule clients, you know what I mean? Trying to, you know, I work with a [00:12:10.180] lot of realtors. So I have a lot of instances where, you know, they have a closing set up the [00:12:14.800] next day and then he's, you know, certain documentation sent out by that period of time. [00:12:18.280] So now like, okay, so now I'm home and I want to try and like have a balance, you know what I mean? [00:12:22.240] Where I'm like devoting time to my family, but yes, I have to do what I need to do to make the [00:12:26.700] business sustained you know what i mean so it's like it's like a juggle you know what i mean and [00:12:30.300] that's that's the hard part about it because there's sometimes where you're like there's times [00:12:33.660] i go home and i'll grab my work from like i don't even want to deal with this you know what i mean [00:12:36.040] i'll just throw it into this so it's like you have to find that balance you can't just obviously you [00:12:40.160] have a family to care for one two you have a business to run so you have to find a balance [00:12:44.520] where you can be like okay listen let me just set aside that's where this is one of my habits i do [00:12:48.280] i like let me set aside i'm gonna just i have a little timer i use it and i set aside let me say [00:12:52.300] i'm gonna take 30 minutes to just devote my time to just communicating with clients you know what [00:12:55.860] mean getting back to emails getting invoices out estimates done you know what i mean and you [00:12:59.860] that time is just your time on on uninterrupted you know you put your phone aside you know i mean [00:13:05.000] accept your work phone whatever you need to do and get it done you know what i mean it's just [00:13:08.220] yeah it's a hard balance and a lot of people don't understand that you know like you run a [00:13:11.740] business everything's glittering gold you know you just reap the benefits but it's it's very taxing [00:13:16.260] and and a lot of times very stressful you know what i mean so yeah it's it's it adds up and you [00:13:21.900] can't get uh you can't get mad if you don't get paid if you didn't send the invoice absolutely i [00:13:26.620] mean i'm right now i'm sitting on a couple that i have to get out and you know what i mean it's [00:13:29.740] like you have those good clients like hey i want to pay you you know what i mean and i'm like yeah [00:13:32.940] they're reminding you yeah and you know in my field of work you know what i mean yeah i'm a [00:13:36.280] plumber but the majority of my work is emergency calls you know what i mean so it's like i'm [00:13:40.000] responding to people that need me right then and then you know i don't do a lot of new construction [00:13:42.980] stuff like that where like big jobs are planned ahead of time so a lot of times i'm like you know [00:13:47.180] my schedule is my schedule but i have to leave room for those variables like a customer that [00:13:52.280] calls in with an emergency and i have to you know fit them in you know what i mean so like yeah [00:13:56.020] i wish i could see i work a regular you know nine to five you know eight to four but i i typically [00:14:00.640] don't you know what i mean it's like you know i have my schedule set out and then you get these [00:14:05.000] wrenches thrown in there where you're like damn okay so now i gotta accommodate this customer [00:14:08.180] who's in a in a tough spot you know what i mean and like you know you you value yourself as a [00:14:12.660] person of integrity so like now they're relying on you to come bail them out of a tough situation [00:14:17.100] You know what I mean? So it's like, you have to find that balance where like, okay, you know, you want to be there for them too as well. You know what I mean? Where you want to have a balance. So, so I'm very transparent with my customers. So a lot of times I get calls and like, Hey, I had this going on. I'm like, Hey, listen, I can honestly come out to you tonight, but I'm wondering if there's a possibility you can wait tomorrow. You know what I mean? If you can wait tomorrow, I'll be glad to, I'll be, I'll gladly accommodate you, give you a specific time I could be there. You know what I mean? And you know, a majority of time they're, they're very, very understanding, you know, cause I'm transparent. You know what I mean? I'm not lying to them. You know, I'm like, Hey, this is what I got going on. You know, I'm a little, I'm a little [00:14:47.100] inundated with stuff that i got going on you know what i mean and i'll gladly come out there and [00:14:50.720] help you but you know can you know is there a window where you're you're flexible you can say [00:14:54.920] hey i'm gonna wait a little bit no problem and if it is an emergency then they appreciate it more [00:14:59.580] that you you know you said look it's not really yeah the greatest time for me i i do that that's [00:15:05.740] one thing i really grown on the last couple years just recently yeah i don't know if you saw the [00:15:10.520] post my wife's car was stolen yes i saw that right out in front of here yeah it's crazy we we got it [00:15:15.680] back the investigation is over so we can say it was found in phillipsburg new jersey but it's a [00:15:21.920] scary feeling i had something due that saturday morning actually i was on my way to evan's gym [00:15:28.840] shout out exalt jujitsu yes i'm on my way to train and i get a call halfway i can't find my car i was [00:15:35.600] like we parked it right out front but i didn't remember seeing it it's a gut-wrenching feeling [00:15:40.180] it sucks by monday it's like look i didn't get a chance to work on your stuff saturday [00:15:45.860] thank god everybody's understanding because at the end of the day they're the client they could [00:15:50.280] be like of course so what the car you know what i mean like yep she's grown she could like i don't [00:15:55.880] know yeah they'll be like hey whatever like they need their stuff done you know what i mean they're [00:15:59.820] like i need this done you know what i mean and that's what's good like i mean honestly like [00:16:03.600] i feel like you you know when you run a business where regardless of what you you cater to a [00:16:07.520] certain demographic you know what i mean so like that demographic is going to be intelligent you [00:16:12.640] know they're going to know you what you got going on and they're going to be understanding and if [00:16:16.420] they're not understanding then okay whatever you have to you know adjust your circumstances [00:16:20.300] according to what they need see met you know what i mean so it's like you know that's the biggest [00:16:25.100] part about it you know that's why i'm big on being transparent you know i'm not here making excuses [00:16:29.120] or telling lies you know what i mean or you know i'm just like listen yeah i was out all day i'm [00:16:33.220] tired you know i mean if you okay we're waiting i would like to get some rest and i can help you [00:16:37.040] out tomorrow you know i mean just being transparent people respect that you know i mean just that [00:16:39.960] level of honesty you know what i mean because then it goes back to being a person of integrity [00:16:42.660] you know what i mean and they could be like okay you know what he was transparent he was honest you [00:16:46.260] know what i mean and you know you know we'll work with him so that we can we can have our needs met [00:16:51.020] you know what i mean so and that's so that's what's huge and i feel like that and in your case [00:16:54.440] too with that they should understand those variables like yeah you gotta you know technically [00:16:58.280] it's your wife's car it's a woman in distress you know what i mean as a man you know what i mean [00:17:01.920] you're obligated you know i hate to say that word obligated but you're obligated to be there for her [00:17:06.580] and say hey listen i'm here with you let's figure it out together you know what i mean it's not her [00:17:11.140] problem now it's your problem together collectively you know what i mean so like i feel like it's [00:17:14.660] important that you know you have a household to maintain you have to deliver as a man you know [00:17:20.300] because that's that's your given right you know what i mean and and and i say it's a right because [00:17:23.980] it is a right it's a privilege it's opportunity you know what i mean it's like do you know [00:17:26.960] to just be like hey listen you know my boyfriend my husband whatever delivered you know when i was [00:17:32.100] in a time of need you know what i mean didn't leave me in the you know in the out in the cold [00:17:35.320] you know what i mean so you know that stuff's important too you know what i mean it goes back [00:17:38.620] to like you know doing everything right you know i gotta ask you yeah i agree 100 i gotta ask [00:17:45.010] did you you were training and i met you in 2016 correct and before we worked on the branding for [00:17:53.050] drain surgeons you mentioned you were cage fighting or you were training then so did you do [00:18:01.130] that before you got into business how long you've been training so technically i was training back [00:18:05.390] in 2007 um i joined uh shout out to rad pack um you know nicholas manston you know he runs [00:18:12.050] rad pack in palmerton um i was big in jujitsu i was addicted to it i said i love this stuff you [00:18:16.650] know what i mean i love training i love the discipline so i joined rad pack and um literally [00:18:20.950] trained with them for about a year and change you know i got my blue belt in like six months you [00:18:24.590] know what i mean and um you know train with them i was cage fighting like crazy i was fighting [00:18:29.190] at Atlantic City at the casinos I was fighting in Jersey um and then I have kids you know what [00:18:35.730] I mean I was like shit like I gotta I gotta prioritize you know what I mean so I tried to [00:18:39.670] manage both but it was impossible you know what I mean like as actively fighting you you need to [00:18:43.670] put a lot of time in the gym you know what I mean if you're an active cage fighter anybody any shout [00:18:47.490] out to my cage fighters out there if anybody knows you're putting at least 30 hours a week in the gym [00:18:52.010] between you know your sparring your jujitsu your conditioning you know what I mean I trained with [00:18:56.890] american top team back in the day it was mandatory we did yoga you know what i mean so like stuff [00:19:00.170] like that you know what i mean like you had to do all the things that were required of you as a [00:19:04.390] fighter because you represented that school and that team you know what i mean so it's not like [00:19:07.850] hey let me just do this for clout i want to be like cool i'm kidding no it was it was a it was [00:19:11.890] a it was a broader picture you know what i mean so you have to really deliver on all aspects so [00:19:15.990] that hey okay now you have your now you delivered now guess what now you got all these awesome [00:19:19.810] coaches in your team backing you up you know as you carry on to do what you love you know what [00:19:23.330] I mean, so it's a hard bounce. [00:19:24.710] So I had to give that up. [00:19:25.510] You know what I mean? [00:19:25.910] So 2009, I said, I'm done, you know, and I didn't pick it back up till 2019. [00:19:31.650] I joined 10 Planet Allentown when they were not even open yet. [00:19:34.510] They were announcing a new location in Allentown. [00:19:36.310] And I reached out to John Blank, who's our coach. [00:19:39.870] He's a black belt, young guy, you know, and I reached out to him. [00:19:43.050] I said, hey, I'm looking to join you guys. [00:19:44.570] You know what I mean? [00:19:44.750] He's like, yeah, we're not open yet, but we have a special going on. [00:19:47.090] Yada, yada, yada. [00:19:47.690] So I signed up. [00:19:48.870] I said, I'm in. [00:19:49.490] I don't care, you know, and joined them in 2019. [00:19:52.530] and I've been with them now until then, you know what I mean? [00:19:54.250] And now I'm a brown belt, you know, in the 10 Planet system [00:19:57.610] under John Thor Blank and Zach Maslany of 10 Planet Bethlehem. [00:20:00.650] They're both my different camps, you know what I mean? [00:20:02.070] We have two locations. [00:20:03.750] Shout out to 10 Planet Bethlehem, 10 Planet Allentown. [00:20:05.370] We have a great camp, great team, man. [00:20:07.490] I feel like everybody's, it's like a family, you know what I mean? [00:20:10.630] Like there's, you know, we just all look out for each other, [00:20:12.630] you know what I mean? [00:20:12.910] We're always helping each other get ready for stuff, [00:20:14.350] whether it's cage fighting, whether it's jiu-jitsu tournaments, [00:20:16.410] you know, whatever the case is. [00:20:18.610] Everybody's there for each other and they help to make sure that [00:20:21.430] not only are we ready physically but mentally too as well you know what i mean because that's the [00:20:25.910] biggest part of that you know what i mean you go out there you put your life on the line whether [00:20:28.570] you're cage riding you're competing in jujitsu it's a lot of it's it's a mental battle on top [00:20:32.990] of the physical you know you're putting you're beating your body up every day you know what i [00:20:35.830] mean so um and it's it's hard to uh how do you call it like knowing the mentality and stuff that's [00:20:43.610] why i didn't compete this year yeah you know um there was a couple guys from exalt where they [00:20:48.070] Yeah. So when you were out there, it's it's it was like Thursday on a Saturday. [00:20:51.730] They're competing. No, you know, besides just regular training, it's like, all right. [00:20:56.290] You know, you you could do that. But you also like you said, you know, I have a family I have. [00:21:01.670] I mean, I could lose eyesight. You know, you're running that risk whenever you're literally fighting someone. [00:21:07.030] So it's like, you know, part of me is like I saw the clip. [00:21:12.230] It was funny when I was thinking of making a decision for a resolution at the dinner we do. [00:21:16.770] um i saw the clip where rocky's like you see that that ain't us no more exactly we can't do that [00:21:23.630] like we used to exactly it's like oh you gotta gotta it's a lot different training after 15 20 [00:21:29.230] years it really is it really is and it's like um not only that too but like factoring your lifestyle [00:21:36.110] your age you know what i mean it's like you know you know realistically i'm 43 i don't have to do [00:21:40.450] this you know what i mean and i compete a lot you know what i mean i travel a lot i've been to over [00:21:44.430] probably 15 states you know what i mean and competed in you know everywhere from up and [00:21:48.770] down the west coast to the east coast whatever that is midwest you know and um but it takes a [00:21:53.190] it takes a certain mindset you know what i mean because yeah it's nerve-wracking i mean you spend [00:21:56.370] how much money traveling between flight to hotel you know signing up for the for the to fight and [00:22:01.310] compete it's a lot of a lot of stuff on the line so now yeah exactly dieting getting yourself your [00:22:05.630] conditioning ready so it's like okay so now you you've invested all this time all this money [00:22:10.190] for a fricking six minute match. You know what I mean? So now you're like, damn, I, okay, shit. [00:22:16.010] You know what I mean? Like, you know what I mean? Like you got to really go ahead and give it 110%, [00:22:20.070] you know what I mean? So, um, I, I enjoy that pressure. You know what I mean? I feel like, [00:22:24.210] you know, I, you know, I travel out there with my family. I'm like, okay, I'm here. I'm here [00:22:28.130] to compete, you know? And I don't ever say, oh, you know, I'll do my best. No, I'm going to give [00:22:31.710] it 110%. You know what I mean? In my head, I try to approach every match, like, you know, when I [00:22:36.790] win, I try to talk into existence, you know what I mean? So yeah, there's losses too, but like, [00:22:40.190] if you have that mindset it's going to help you to approach that match effectively you know what [00:22:43.950] i mean because at the end of the day you don't know this other person from a hole in the wall [00:22:47.650] you know what i mean and we're in a sport where they you can easily get severely hurt you know [00:22:51.810] what i mean i've seen people get carried out on stretchers ambulances you know what i mean there's [00:22:55.230] guys that can't walk for six months so it's like it's a very high risk but i try i i'm cognizant [00:23:01.070] of the risk i must say you know what i mean but at the same sense i'm not letting that risk hinder [00:23:05.350] me from my ability you know i mean i approach everything with knowing what i'm capable of you [00:23:09.610] know what i mean i know i train with a great team and um you know all those guys i train with in the [00:23:14.010] room are just animals you know what i mean so i go in there with that mindset saying hey you know [00:23:17.370] what i train with the best in the game i don't care let's let's go let's go to war you know what [00:23:20.630] i mean my age doesn't have an effect on it you know and that's the thing about me too like [00:23:24.070] everybody uses their age as a limitation but honestly it's a number let's be realistic you [00:23:28.570] know what i mean it's a number you know what i mean like for me to say oh i'm 43 i shouldn't [00:23:31.810] be doing this stuff you know what i mean i'm competing against guys in their 20s you know [00:23:34.390] what i mean and sometimes i can be competing against guys my age but it's like at the end [00:23:37.630] of the day it's like for what like i'm honestly i know what i'm capable of you know what i mean [00:23:42.450] i put all that work behind the scenes to come out here and hold back you know what i mean because [00:23:46.510] i'm worried about getting hurt or i'm thinking like oh i shouldn't be doing this at my age no [00:23:51.150] and at the end of the day i'm going in there like it's like to me i approach every match like it's [00:23:55.250] another another session in in in the grappling room you know i mean we're retraining you know [00:23:59.810] right right right it's just another man you know you know you prepared for the match before you [00:24:06.310] get to the match but it's funny i had to ask you because i was talking with evan about this yeah [00:24:10.610] do you still get i don't want to call them butterflies but you know like when the adrenaline's [00:24:15.090] cooking do you still feel that pre-match that's a good question honestly because i felt like in the [00:24:19.390] last year and a half i don't get that anymore like i feel like i've competed and i i tally [00:24:24.990] the i probably compete i've had over 150 matches already in my life you know what i mean so like [00:24:28.730] there's gonna come a point in time where you're like okay it's another match whatever you know [00:24:31.650] what i mean so like yeah i'm grateful for that opportunity to be like hey i'm cool i'm not [00:24:35.530] nervous you know what i mean i feel great my cardio is good i'm i'm healthy you know praise [00:24:41.130] god i'm healthy i don't have no ailments and i'm gonna go on there and just give it 110 you know [00:24:44.650] and be smart at this at the same note you know i mean i'm gonna do no high risk dumb stuff but [00:24:48.590] i'm gonna go on there and implement my game you know what i mean so um yeah it's just the [00:24:52.870] butterflies are still there but for me it's there because it's there on an intelligent mindset you [00:24:59.790] know what i mean like yeah be smart it's helping you out it's not be smart i'm not holding back [00:25:04.250] not paralyzing me like but in the same sense it's like okay you know what you're here to do you know [00:25:09.110] you train in the room with a bunch of animals a bunch of killers you know what i mean we got a [00:25:12.070] lot of high level guys at our camp at 10 planet you know what i mean at both locations so every [00:25:16.690] time i go in there and compete the minute i step on that man i'm like i train with the best i'm [00:25:19.630] ready let's go you know what i mean if i lose because this guy was better than me it's not [00:25:23.390] because i held back and said oh i was seeing you know what i mean so it's like you got to really [00:25:27.230] go in there with that mindset and give it 110 otherwise you know what i mean your mind can [00:25:31.750] kill you before you even before he kills you you understand what i'm saying like you you have to be [00:25:36.610] like cognizant and ready and you have to trust i always tell i always tell my my teammates i was [00:25:41.910] there trust your jujitsu you know what i mean trust what you work on in the room trust what [00:25:45.710] you do when nobody's looking you know what i mean and implement that you know what i mean be the [00:25:49.410] aggressor that was that was how i started when i first started i was like oh i'm gonna just go [00:25:53.030] for what he's doing and react no you know what i mean because then then they're gonna think they [00:25:56.570] have the upper hand because now you're letting them approach you now you let them get you know [00:25:59.830] So now you have to be the aggressor and say, okay, you're here. [00:26:02.990] You signed up to compete with me. [00:26:04.250] Let's go. [00:26:04.950] You're going to be the aggressor. [00:26:05.930] You're going to tie up. [00:26:07.250] Make them feel uncomfortable. [00:26:08.290] Let them feel your strength. [00:26:09.410] Let them know that you're pushing forward. [00:26:10.970] You know what I mean? [00:26:11.570] So it's like that helps a lot with trying to go in there and get the job done. [00:26:17.310] You know what I mean? [00:26:17.890] Like, yeah, you can't think about the other stuff, you know, getting hurt. [00:26:20.530] You know, that stuff's inevitable. [00:26:21.530] You know what I mean? [00:26:21.890] I've been hurt on matches. [00:26:23.110] You know what I mean? [00:26:23.430] I've been helped off the mat. [00:26:24.970] You know, my teammates carry me out. [00:26:26.310] You know what I mean? [00:26:26.550] That was back in the day. [00:26:27.290] But I feel like the more I compete, the more mature I get. [00:26:29.910] You know what I'm saying? [00:26:30.430] Like, I feel like I'm more smarter about how I do things. [00:26:33.410] You know what I mean? [00:26:33.690] I don't have an ego. [00:26:34.650] You know what I mean? [00:26:35.010] I know if I'm in a match and it's a compromised position where I can potentially get hurt, [00:26:38.810] you know what I mean? [00:26:39.170] I'll tap out. [00:26:39.950] You know what I mean? [00:26:40.290] I have no pride at all. [00:26:42.350] You know what I mean? [00:26:42.590] The guy was just better than me. [00:26:43.530] He was just more smarter at getting to that position and putting me in a vulnerable position [00:26:47.890] where I'm like, damn, I'm done. [00:26:49.410] You know what I mean? [00:26:49.710] I'm cooked. [00:26:50.150] You know what I mean? [00:26:50.490] I got to tap out. [00:26:51.410] You know what I mean? [00:26:51.790] So you have to go in there with that mindset. [00:26:57.290] as i compete more and more it's not as bad as as when i first started you know what i mean [00:27:02.710] and going through it you know what i mean so it helps out a lot that's why i always tell my [00:27:06.570] teammates like on my lower belt guys i'm a brown belt in jujitsu and i always tell my lower belts [00:27:10.330] my white belts my blue belts you know what i mean i say listen okay you went out there you lost you [00:27:15.210] get your ass kicked go back out there again you know i mean dust it off go back out there because [00:27:18.610] that's how i did it you know what i mean i was i was a blue belt competing at an expert division [00:27:22.310] you know what i mean getting my ass mopped you know what i mean getting tapped out in a minute [00:27:26.290] you know i mean then it started it was like a period where i'm like okay now i'm getting tapped [00:27:29.910] out quick okay now i'm losing but on points okay okay i'm not getting finished okay so now we're [00:27:34.410] on a point where i'm like i'm getting better now i'm like okay now i'm winning on points [00:27:37.610] and now i'm starting to finish these guys you know what i mean at blue and purple you know [00:27:41.110] what i mean so it's like you know just that progression it motivates me to know that okay [00:27:46.310] hey listen i'm getting better you know what i mean my progression is there i'm consistently [00:27:49.650] training i'm not just training to get ready for a fight that's the thing a lot about a lot of [00:27:52.850] people they they only train when they are getting ready for something but you got to be consistently [00:27:56.570] training all the time you know i mean it doesn't matter and i always tell people join jujitsu you [00:28:00.370] don't you don't have to compete there's no nothing saying you have to compete but just join it just [00:28:03.630] to have that discipline where you you're picking up a self-defense you know what i mean and i [00:28:07.430] always tell people you don't have to compete that's not necessary at all a competition is a [00:28:11.270] way to challenge yourself if you wanted to you know what i mean but other than that you know [00:28:14.910] just do i hate to say the bare minimum but do the bare minimum you know i mean you want to come up [00:28:18.170] sign up train yeah and teach yourself you know it's better than nothing we talk about a lot that [00:28:22.930] a lot on the the podcast yeah but i wanted to bring it full circle like the reason why i asked [00:28:27.890] if you train before business people don't understand what training martial arts or even [00:28:33.650] if you're not competing and you're just competing with yourself yeah it translates over into other [00:28:39.370] areas of your life that discipline you know what i mean like telling yourself you're gonna send that [00:28:44.470] invoice. They say like a body in motion stays in motion. So like that happens with your mind as [00:28:51.150] well too. It's a lot. If I say I'm going to, there's two ways I could go about it. I could [00:28:56.270] scroll Instagram for half an hour and then send the invoice or I could send the invoice and then [00:29:02.190] scroll Instagram. One of them, I'm going to be completely dead. I'm going to be, I've sent stuff [00:29:07.590] where it's like, you know, I'm billing them for another client's work. Like it's the right price, [00:29:12.090] but the description is exactly and it's like you're supposed to uh you're supposed to be like [00:29:18.630] pivotal in business everything's supposed to tie up i'm like don't you understand when people like [00:29:24.150] even having podcast guests when i have them over to my house yep if it's all out of whack they [00:29:32.620] think i don't know it's just crazy how one thing goes to another how training martial arts can help [00:29:38.100] you keep your house clean and it's true it honestly you hit it on right in the nose and it goes back [00:29:42.680] to the word discipline you know what i mean like people that's the one and i always tell people [00:29:47.510] this like right what's the less i mean unbiasedly the two most things people want in life is to [00:29:53.390] look great and make good money you know what i mean and i feel like in order to look great you [00:29:59.170] have to have the discipline to want to do that you know what i mean and i feel like that's the [00:30:02.710] one thing that's absolutely attainable you know what i mean like making money is hard you got to [00:30:05.950] go out there you got to hustle you got to sell your product whatever you're doing you know me [00:30:08.970] So it's a constant battle. [00:30:10.030] But as far as like looking good and feeling good, that requires a lot of discipline. [00:30:14.510] You know what I mean? [00:30:14.890] And discipline is something you attain. [00:30:16.310] It's a habit. [00:30:16.990] You know what I mean? [00:30:17.810] And I feel like I always tell people this. [00:30:19.650] Like if you have the discipline to do that, do anything in life, then you're going to be successful at everything you touch. [00:30:24.410] You know what I mean? [00:30:24.810] So it's like, okay, I want to do this. [00:30:26.410] I want to take on this project. [00:30:27.210] I want to learn a new language or whatever the case is. [00:30:29.410] You know what I mean? [00:30:29.890] Or, you know, you want to quit bad habits. [00:30:32.950] You know, somebody wants to quit smoking. [00:30:34.310] Okay, do you have the discipline to really carry that on? [00:30:36.350] You know what I mean? [00:30:36.690] and that's the that's the thing is like you know and that's it goes back to what i was saying [00:30:40.530] before about instant gratification delay gratification like everybody wants everything [00:30:43.350] right now right now right now yeah they want to take up let's go like i want everything i want [00:30:46.990] it to magically happen and boom no you're gonna suffer you know what i mean like when i started [00:30:50.850] my business i was working out of a fucking 2004 honda accord you know what i mean like going to [00:30:57.210] service calls and loading my tools up you know i mean before i even had my truck like you know i [00:31:01.390] understand that part you know what i mean and i always felt like i had to explain to these people [00:31:04.450] Like, I'm sorry I'm in a car, I'm not in a work truck, you know what I mean? [00:31:07.090] And they respected my hustle. [00:31:08.710] I was transparent, you know what I mean? [00:31:09.690] But, like, you have to have that discipline regardless of the obstacles to want to carry things out, you know what I mean? [00:31:17.120] Whether it's a career you want to attain, you know what I mean? [00:31:19.880] Or a certain weight you want to lose, you know what I mean? [00:31:23.220] Or in a certain, like, you know, look you desire to attire, you know what I mean? [00:31:27.380] So, but, yeah, discipline goes a long way. [00:31:30.620] You have to have discipline. [00:31:31.780] otherwise you know you're gonna fall short every time you know for sure even um i'm thinking back [00:31:38.800] to making sure all the cameras are charged and uh yeah i mean there's times where i'm laying in bed [00:31:45.460] oh shit the cameras aren't on yeah i gotta go and then i'll go and check and maybe they are [00:31:50.940] yeah and they were charging but if i didn't check and they weren't now you have your you're traveling [00:31:57.460] the world internationally i know you talked about the 50 states but i see you in the tropics and [00:32:02.460] some of these competitions that you do so those are other benefits you've pulled from it yeah but [00:32:08.620] you took time out of your schedule to be here can you imagine if the camera that's on you just [00:32:14.420] wasn't working so now we gotta shift it and now we gotta have no like they can't see the scene like [00:32:20.280] all of it is everything down to the reels that we're gonna promote for the episode it's all [00:32:27.300] uh like you said consistency and i uh i fell off recently with the consistency i'm set for the next [00:32:36.200] like i have a guess like every week till february yeah but um i felt bad and this isn't even what i [00:32:44.520] do to make money this is just a hobby but my level of discipline translates into my hobbies like if i [00:32:51.120] can do it a hundred percent it's like okay let me just know where i'm at yeah so keeping healthy [00:32:58.040] keeping the energy to be able to create to give yourself a hundred percent we talked with gil [00:33:03.860] thompson you got to watch the two-year anniversary episode i put out yeah um he's talking about how [00:33:10.180] he gets ready in the morning and meditates just so that he's not grumpy to other people yeah [00:33:15.660] So it's like when you, yeah, when somebody has no motivation, has no will, I'm going to kind of judge and think, okay, that's probably why you're depressed. [00:33:29.590] You know, like it's really hard to be checking lists off every day and be depressed. [00:33:35.650] and this is no trust me like when you go through depression it's really hard to check or do those [00:33:42.170] lists but those little incremental things those little things that make you happy and turn into [00:33:49.430] the upward spiral like it's it's what you have to do you know it's not going to happen it's not [00:33:56.170] going to just happen the only money that's going to come without doing anything is when i get [00:33:59.890] parking for street cleaning exactly yeah you know i get fined for something and now i have to they [00:34:05.570] it's funny they wrote repeat offender yeah you get an increased ticket when you're a repeat offender [00:34:10.630] yeah but yeah like i i 100 agree with you like it's funny because you say about the [00:34:15.030] the parking authority and like you know you live in allentown i live in allentown they're just [00:34:18.910] relentless with like just looking for ways to ticket people i'm like we live in the in the [00:34:24.410] suburbs you know what i mean we're not in the city you know what i mean like where there's a [00:34:28.250] meter or something you know i mean it's just annoying dealing with that kind of kind of crap [00:34:31.770] you know what i mean but you know you have to adapt you know what i mean so but you know what [00:34:36.750] back to the discipline the only reason why i got it was because i i don't know if i slept in half [00:34:41.790] an hour or like you know we have a whole morning regimen especially when we were down to one car [00:34:47.130] where people have to be in different sides of the town somebody has to be early but now you have [00:34:53.450] okay on top of that i slept in 20 minutes now this person is late now the car is not moved by [00:35:02.300] 8 a.m so now i got a 50 ticket it's like you can't you know it's i'm like oh i don't even get [00:35:10.040] mad when i get the ticket i'm like i didn't have my laces tied by 1 p.m exactly listen it's funny [00:35:15.900] you say that because i always say it's like i would what i say about that is that that's a [00:35:19.780] consequence of your daily habits you know what i mean the decisions you make you know what i mean [00:35:23.420] so like people are always like oh do you panic or worry about making a certain amount of money i'm [00:35:27.920] like no i don't worry about that stuff you know what i mean i feel like the work i put out there [00:35:31.640] and being a person of integrity you know what i mean the money that i make is a consequence of me [00:35:36.140] being that that character you know i mean being able to provide good service being able to be [00:35:40.540] transparent being able to be a person of integrity that people can rely on you know what i mean [00:35:44.080] and um that's why i would say that like that it goes back to what you're saying like yeah you [00:35:48.500] wanted to sleep in a little 20 30 minutes you know even now look how it's a domino effect you [00:35:52.660] know what i mean like i said before it's a domino effect of like that one decision you made to like [00:35:56.760] sleep in now look what it did you know what i mean now now you got somebody late for work who [00:36:01.200] potentially lose their job you never know you know what i mean you got a pay a ticket you know [00:36:05.540] what i mean now you're like you know it's just like it's it's just uh it's just a ripple effect [00:36:10.540] of things that can affect you because you wanted to be selfish and be like oh i want to sleep in [00:36:14.800] you know what i mean so it's like sometimes we got to let go of what we want and think about [00:36:18.760] the broader picture and like okay let me get up and be you know more effective you know that's it [00:36:23.480] and i'm big on that too even like my morning routine man i don't sleep in you know if i know [00:36:28.300] i gotta be on a job by like nine i'm up at like 7 30 i'd rather just get up you know and i had [00:36:34.000] this routine where i like i'll get up i don't touch my phone i touch my phone to take it off [00:36:38.680] the charger but i don't check it i go i you know make a coffee and i don't drink it till like 30 [00:36:44.480] minutes after i'm up you know what i mean not right away and yeah i read about that yeah i go [00:36:48.820] it's a big thing they say that jocko willing said that too as well you know what i mean like he's [00:36:52.400] like you know doesn't let your cortisol balance exactly yeah so when you get up in the morning [00:36:56.540] don't don't drink coffee right away don't let that be your stimulant you know what i mean like [00:36:59.380] you need to just do what you got to do set it up hit your machine whatever and and wait about 30 [00:37:04.380] to 60 minutes before you drink it so in that time i'm i'm either watching a youtube video for [00:37:09.860] something that's going to benefit me whether it's spiritual whether it's motivational you know what [00:37:12.900] i mean i'll go outside and you know yeah i have my own home gym but i have pull-up bars outside [00:37:16.880] my backyard and i'll just do like you know pull-ups and just you know play with my dogs you [00:37:21.420] know and just you know divest myself from the distractions of a phone or social media or [00:37:26.280] client texting you know because i feel like that the morning is so critical and people don't [00:37:31.000] understand that you know what i mean like it can really dictate your mood and how you conduct [00:37:34.680] yourself the rest of the day so like the entire day if you pick up your phone immediately right [00:37:38.100] when you wake up you know what i mean you're like checking your notifications you know what you're [00:37:40.900] gonna be sidetracked you know what i mean you're not gonna do everything you set out to do you [00:37:43.600] know what i mean i'd rather have that time to just be like okay i'm up early you know i'm gonna just [00:37:48.220] do what i gotta do get my truck ready you know start it up warm it up you know what i mean [00:37:51.900] just come from a client just clean the car out just take the trash out of the car exactly the [00:37:56.660] little habits you could do that are gonna make everything flow better for your day you know [00:38:01.540] what i mean and then once you get that done okay go ahead go hit the coffee machine drink your [00:38:05.460] coffee and sip it up you know what i mean but i feel like that's that's critical you know what [00:38:09.460] i mean because they you know the way you wake up and the way you carry on your mornings and it [00:38:14.880] really dictate the way the rest of your day goes you know what i mean so and it's it's funny because [00:38:18.660] like lately i've been trying to work out in the morning you know what i mean and just you know [00:38:23.620] trying like you know get that discipline like okay you know what let's go get up you know two [00:38:27.620] hours early i'll go work out get a good workout and then i'll drink coffee you know what i mean [00:38:31.360] and go about my day and it really does have an impact on your day it really does it's mood [00:38:34.980] altering you know what i mean like okay i felt productive i got up i worked out you could feel [00:38:38.480] the endorphins when you're drinking coffee i used to run a lot in the morning and i remember you [00:38:42.720] were big on running you see yeah but i mean if it was 5 30 in the morning and snowing out i was [00:38:49.940] still out i would just have hat and gloves there was time i would be out in a t-shirt with hat and [00:38:54.480] gloves at like 26 degrees because i said i was going to run and it's like people like were you [00:39:01.160] cold well fuck yeah it's 26 degrees but i'm not thinking about that the feeling of i did it anyway [00:39:07.400] and i have to go back and look maybe i'll have time to throw it up but i had a snapchat where [00:39:11.900] they used to be able to show you the temperature yes exactly before you could cap cut and edit all [00:39:16.320] your stuff so people used to like uh snapchat was cool because you couldn't see comments so people [00:39:21.740] had to reply yeah and people would be like yo you're crazy especially my dudes from california [00:39:26.440] oh of course yeah the west coast what are you doing out there like what are you doing is that [00:39:30.760] snow yeah and so um i realize i'm self-aware enough to realize i go through cycles so i can't [00:39:38.420] always be on like right now is around when i would compete and for whatever reason 15 years later i [00:39:46.800] get like right around october i'm just kind of on sometimes a little bit in the summer you know i [00:39:53.140] might be a little slower so i'll work from 5 to 8 a.m on client projects if i'm alert and i'm awake [00:40:01.280] yeah if i can't you know if i get up at five even if i and i count my sleep but even if i had [00:40:08.480] decent sleep, but my body's telling me like, don't do it. And then I realized, okay, for two weeks, [00:40:15.520] I couldn't do it. I won't even schedule it in the morning anymore. Like I don't have to be as [00:40:20.880] hardcore. Cause I mean, it's, there really is a thing as being too disciplined. You can go and [00:40:28.020] look at somebody and say they have this success because they have every 15 minutes of their [00:40:32.540] calendar scheduled out and that's great. But if they're not taking that time to rest, there's, [00:40:38.600] you know, they better be taking three, four vacations in that time or investing in massage [00:40:45.340] or stretch therapy, have something. I mean, when I don't get to practice, I feel different. I feel [00:40:53.200] more like agitated, less like, uh, I don't know. It's weird. No, I a hundred percent agree with [00:40:59.480] you. Like even times like, uh, there'll be times where I can't train cause I'm working so much. [00:41:03.060] And like, you know, I don't train for like a week, you know, which is a lot for me. I always [00:41:07.410] train all the time and i'm like and i feel that my mood is just you know i'm just like really [00:41:12.350] sullen you know what i mean i'm real reticent you know what i mean and you know i'm not really [00:41:15.990] you know in tune with the daily habits i like to to do and you know accomplish you know what i mean [00:41:20.590] so i get that whole like mentality we're like okay so then i know i need to get my ass back in there [00:41:25.310] and work you know what i mean because it's gonna alter your mood at the end of the day you know [00:41:29.310] what i mean so you know and it helps with the mental health you know i mean there's a lot of [00:41:32.970] people dealing with mental health i personally battle with depression you know what i mean [00:41:36.390] and um jujitsu helps me with that you know what i mean so it's like it's a it's my outlet you [00:41:40.870] know what i mean so it's like i hear a lot of people say that honestly like i was diagnosed [00:41:45.030] with pdd with persistent depressive disorder so it's like high functioning depression you know [00:41:49.510] what i mean and um there'll be times i'll get in these funks and i can't even call why i there's [00:41:54.750] no explanation i'm just like in a funk you know what i mean and i'm like i'm just battling but [00:41:59.650] i'm like okay i don't know and i'm like i don't want to train i don't want to work out whatever [00:42:02.730] i don't even care about eating clean nothing like that you know what i mean so it's like i gotta i [00:42:05.770] gotta fight that mental battle to get out of that rut and like oh no get your ass in the gym or go [00:42:09.790] train you know what i mean and get yourself out of that funk you know what i mean i feel like [00:42:12.830] jujitsu helped me so much with that you know what i mean like it's like you know there was a point [00:42:17.810] in my life where i was like 240 pounds you know i'm just constantly drinking beer not caring about [00:42:22.770] you know what i was putting in my body you know what i mean and i'm like this is not me man you [00:42:27.110] know what i mean like it's like i gotta i gotta do something now because it's gonna be too late [00:42:31.170] you know what i mean and i'm like i'm 43 and i got friends that are like 35 40 years old just [00:42:36.010] dying from heart attacks just because they make you know poor decisions every day you know that [00:42:39.490] was the scariest for me that's that that is scary peace and a friend at like 35 and you know what [00:42:45.650] was crazy he had just said i'm gonna get everything together he had quit smoking started eating [00:42:52.430] healthy and like that year that was it and so it's like bro i'm getting chills now thinking about it [00:42:58.330] somebody i wrestled with too so you're like we were all at that same prime in our teens you know [00:43:04.730] we were all competing at a high level so yeah yeah i mean the granted there's always going to [00:43:10.370] be you know i make choices that i think will affect me in terms of longevity or things like [00:43:16.230] that yeah but you know you you can't like who knows you could smoke and get hit by a car you [00:43:26.950] you could i mean you can get hit by a car even if you don't smoke that's not a great [00:43:32.740] metaphor but you know you you don't know like tomorrow's not promised yeah like we the the [00:43:39.100] worst injury i ever had was in volleyball after after wrestling my shoulder it's funny you say [00:43:45.300] that because like i remember i was playing a volleyball game right and i went to i was in [00:43:48.500] the front of the net i went to block a spike and the ball pushed my shoulder all the way back and [00:43:52.940] i tell you what that that hindered me for like a good year my shoulder was not the same you know [00:43:56.740] what i mean i'm like it's just dumb like and you know me i'm a person of extreme sports you know [00:44:00.820] what i mean everybody always you know cracks the jokes like i'm hispanic but i'm like a white boy [00:44:04.960] x games mode you know i always snowboard you know motocross whatever the case is and i'm like yeah [00:44:10.160] for real like and shout out to my boys jeff and keith i always go where it's funny because we're [00:44:14.700] like the only minorities in the mountain we go to like the the craziest peaks with the highest [00:44:18.880] elevations and we're like the only brown boys up there like you know hit these expert trails you [00:44:23.420] know what i mean but it's funny because like it's always like that you always get injured doing the [00:44:27.500] dumbest shit you know what i mean like it's just dumb you know what i mean like i blocked the shot [00:44:31.480] on volleyball and now i have this shoulder impingement that's that's hindering me for like [00:44:35.120] a good year you know what i mean it's like you never know what's gonna happen i think i was doing [00:44:38.980] a somersault uh or not a summer i was just rolling like i wasn't i wasn't yeah rolling with someone [00:44:45.840] i was just being silly myself rolling as a warm-up yeah and i had like they're like you got calcific [00:44:53.000] tendinitis now it was probably from bad shoulder position just from wrestling and i like messed it [00:45:00.020] up so i don't know if that's what it was but you know you'd think going live is when you get all [00:45:05.020] your crazy injuries it never is like i swear to god it's like i'm drilling i'm drilling and [00:45:10.600] somebody was learning something and just had it wrong and so that's why i mean but that'll teach [00:45:15.880] you that you can't change the stuff that happens like you have to have a certain bit of adaptability [00:45:22.980] yeah and that's what i had to learn because if i didn't run one day it was bad yeah and like i get [00:45:30.180] it for some people like uh shout out to my people in recovery you know there's some people we were [00:45:35.340] talking about this the other day but they don't litter because that is one step closer to taking [00:45:43.700] them back to the person that uses absolutely yeah so they think i'm gonna end up it's triggering you [00:45:49.360] know what i mean that's what you did they they're conscious and that's huge because if you're [00:45:52.880] conscious of the points that of things in life that will trigger you you do everything you can [00:45:57.020] to eradicate or even mitigate the probability of that happening you know what i mean so like that's [00:46:01.000] huge you know what i mean like okay it could be something small as littering but like damn you [00:46:04.880] know what i mean like now i'm careless or reckless now what is that this is going to transfer onto [00:46:08.820] down the stream you know what i mean so it's like that's what that's what i'm saying every decision [00:46:12.460] you make every thought you have your thought process is gonna it's gonna have a domino effect [00:46:16.660] You know what I mean? So you got to be cognizant of that. You know what I mean? And conduct yourself in a way that's going to benefit you and everyone else around you. Because it's not always about you. You know what I mean? People misunderstand that. They're like, oh, you know, I'm not doing this and I feel like I'm bummed out. No. How about you conduct yourself unselfishly, unbiased? You know what I mean? You think about what you can do. You know what I mean? If you want to go out there and tackle a career or get a degree, damn, let's think how that's going to affect your mom or your dad. [00:46:44.910] like damn okay my my i'm proud of my kid they did this or whatever the case is you know what i mean [00:46:48.650] so now they're gonna carry themselves in the same manner so like i feel like your energy can be [00:46:52.150] contagious you know what i mean so you could be like damn like they're out here doing this you [00:46:55.810] know what i mean so like i'm feeling that like let me go do this you know what i mean like [00:46:58.750] regardless of how old your parents are but they're gonna feel more motivated because hey [00:47:02.390] listen my kid did this and they accomplished this so now like i feel motivated let me go to the gym [00:47:06.670] let me start caring about my health stuff like that you know what i mean so i feel like that's [00:47:10.170] always i always say that word domino effect because you never know like that one decision you make [00:47:13.990] can affect people down the line you know what i mean so like i try to be a good influence you [00:47:18.390] know my kids and and be like hey you know my dad is doing this you know he don't have to do this [00:47:22.490] you know he's 43 you just sit home and watch netflix and do nothing but at the end of the [00:47:26.890] day man it's it's hard for me to do that you know what i mean and don't get me wrong i have a balance [00:47:31.290] where i relax and rest but like yeah no but on the same note i can't i can't fathom myself [00:47:39.260] committing to a show and binge watching like i see all these posts on facebook oh i need a new [00:47:43.360] show to binge watch i'm like damn like i think of better things i could do with my time you know [00:47:47.820] what i mean like i work on a second language or develop another craft you know i mean if you want [00:47:51.600] to learn how to play guitar or whatever something that's going to benefit you that's that's that's [00:47:54.960] outside of the realm of what everybody else is doing like what do you want to be in a conversation [00:47:57.720] like oh yeah we all saw this show and this show you know what i mean like oh this this scene was [00:48:02.300] great but like okay what is that getting you is there any benefit to that decision you made [00:48:06.280] like game a game of thrones so there there is a benefit of being up on pop culture yeah there is [00:48:13.520] even if it's small but for me it's more like like people know i played video games yeah i haven't [00:48:21.040] like i've dabbled but i really haven't had the time to sit there and play for two three hours [00:48:26.440] probably since summer maybe like early summer um and i know because it tells you how long you played [00:48:34.620] And I just, whenever I have that one other thing to do, or I think like there's stuff on my to-do list to do when I'm done with my to-dos, just in case my house is in order and all my clients are paid and everything's in follow-up, then I can start working on my podcast or my social strategy. [00:48:58.800] you know there's things to do so I'll force myself to play games but I'm never like it's been so long [00:49:08.520] since I'm like I'm looking so for me I remember being like what's the next game I'm gonna play [00:49:14.480] how am I gonna fill my time I you know I have four hours a night you know what got me out of that was [00:49:20.460] editing and making content for the games and I'm like well I don't want to play the game I just [00:49:25.740] want to get the clips to edit while my friends were online playing games i'm there editing [00:49:31.780] pissing them off playing the same thing over so i was like all right it just kind of i don't want [00:49:37.060] to say i grew out of it because it does add to my creativity yeah and anything like uh like if i'm [00:49:45.920] going to watch something it's going to be marvel or game of thrones it's got to be at the epitome [00:49:50.840] of my industry absolutely like hey can i get a french new wave modern soap opera because they're [00:49:58.020] like down that rabbit hole of black and white noir yep no i mean to each his own like yeah if you find [00:50:05.420] community in discussing that with people like it used to be if you were into something quote [00:50:11.660] unquote weird you were kind of isolated you know what i mean now you can play dungeons and dragons [00:50:17.660] with somebody in albany and somebody else in costa rica so it's like you ever since twitter [00:50:25.140] so you can find other people who have the same interests as you and just being able to move [00:50:32.080] through society and have equity like even having a podcast people are like if people see this what [00:50:40.060] we're doing right here and they don't listen to any of the conversation they don't know what it's [00:50:44.660] about they're just like it looks official yeah you know what i mean when they dig down and they're [00:50:49.800] like okay it's all set up so that everything else is blanked out but me and you we don't even notice [00:50:55.920] the lights yep it's like oh okay i can see why he's going in that direction like but people just [00:51:05.410] see hey it happened to me today i was walking out of walgreens hey the podcast like people just see [00:51:12.470] okay you have something that everybody else has and yours looks good or whatever it is or there's [00:51:18.750] people that say like oh why is he on the sure and he's on the the um sm58 you know like there's [00:51:26.580] always going to be people as i got into threads and you know this anybody who trains in martial [00:51:33.040] arts knows like there really is no best you know and what do you do like does gordon ryan just say [00:51:40.820] i'm done now yeah exactly training yeah that's it that's that's the end or like you know what i mean [00:51:46.160] you go as long as your body can take absolutely 100 agree with you on that one definitely but [00:51:52.780] that's the that's the encompassing that's the feeling i want to encompass in the show like [00:51:58.640] people have to understand it's that journey it's the discipline along the way yeah it's gonna be [00:52:03.600] the theme and you never know who you're impacting you know i mean some people because some people [00:52:07.700] or have that fear [00:52:08.800] of socializing [00:52:09.520] or going out in public [00:52:10.340] so like [00:52:10.840] you don't know how [00:52:11.580] your podcast [00:52:12.180] can impact that person [00:52:13.240] you know what I mean [00:52:13.700] so like [00:52:14.160] you know [00:52:14.820] you might be putting [00:52:15.460] out content [00:52:15.920] that resonates with them [00:52:16.940] and they're like [00:52:17.320] oh damn [00:52:17.720] you know what I mean [00:52:18.140] like this is [00:52:18.980] you know what I mean [00:52:19.560] this is what helps me out [00:52:20.780] and that's why I'm not [00:52:22.060] biased against people [00:52:23.340] that do that stuff [00:52:24.160] or play video games [00:52:24.920] like go ahead [00:52:25.380] do what you [00:52:25.720] if it makes you happy [00:52:26.780] go ahead and go for it [00:52:27.700] you know what I mean [00:52:28.160] you know what I mean [00:52:28.700] everybody has their own niche [00:52:30.200] you know what I mean [00:52:30.740] but for me [00:52:31.680] it's like [00:52:31.980] I even have a PS5 [00:52:32.820] I barely play that thing [00:52:33.800] you know what I mean [00:52:34.240] it's like [00:52:34.560] i'm i'm yeah you were saying you weren't gonna get call of duty 6 because you're like i just [00:52:39.960] know as soon as you said that i was like all right cool he's on the same wavelength as me [00:52:44.320] where yeah no i don't want to be addicted to that man it's like it's great and the new um [00:52:48.420] um the what's that game that's coming out um uh i forget the name of it but it was a new game [00:52:54.040] that's coming out i'm like if i get that game i'm done it's like i'm folded i'm like i'll be so [00:52:57.760] so committed to it you know what i mean so it's like i gotta i gotta focus you know what i mean [00:53:01.860] and there's nothing wrong with gaming i feel like gaming is a good outlet for people to just you [00:53:04.980] know i mean there's nothing wrong with absolutely nothing wrong with tv it's when you're not [00:53:08.740] showering exactly it's when you're not exactly you know when it's feeding into your depression [00:53:13.920] and that's exactly what it is and people don't understand that like it's funny you say that [00:53:17.920] because when i when i got diagnosed with my depression the doctor was asking me crazy [00:53:21.760] questions like that he's like oh what are your daily habits and what are you doing like have [00:53:25.300] you been showering i'm like no i haven't showered in two days like and like you like oh do you have [00:53:29.920] daily habits that you typically do and i'm like i'll tell him he's like when was the last time [00:53:32.540] you did i'm like damn like a week ago and he's like yeah okay this is what you have you have [00:53:36.120] depression i'm like damn i didn't realize that like you know what i mean that that was the that [00:53:41.060] was how you diagnose depression you know what i mean like your daily habits you start like [00:53:44.780] not caring about them you don't care about your personal hygiene you care about your personal [00:53:47.760] health when you lose the will to do something you used to love exactly for me it's almost like [00:53:53.060] gaming is a because i don't play so much that i won't like it but if i'm sitting there and i'm [00:53:58.740] like man that chess game or whatever I play makes me happy but now I'm just sitting there like [00:54:05.700] people talk about it and it's funny because you could go on to reddit and hear people talking [00:54:11.740] about whether they're struggling with video game addiction they're like dude I have all these games [00:54:16.500] and I just don't know which one to play and it's like maybe you don't have to play anything right [00:54:21.660] now like your your brain is looking for that dopamine exactly exactly it's it's that's a you [00:54:29.320] hit it on the spot man it's everybody wants that that rush you know i mean that goes back to that [00:54:33.120] instant gratification you know what i mean like i want to feel that now like i don't care about [00:54:36.440] the long term i don't want to wait i don't want to wait i want it right now you know what i mean [00:54:39.000] that's that's their mentality you know what i mean i'm like you have to be okay with suffering for a [00:54:43.700] while you know what i mean like that's the whole thing like when i started my business i suffered [00:54:48.020] like crazy for the first two years man i was like damn do i hang it up now i'm like i wasn't having [00:54:52.580] a lot of business and i was struggling you know what i mean and you know at the time i was paying [00:54:56.480] child support and i was behind on child support and dealing with that stuff and i'm like damn [00:55:00.320] what the hell do i do like do i hang it up and i'm like no i'm not giving up you know what i mean [00:55:03.480] like you know i'm supposed to follow social convention be like hey you know what this is [00:55:07.780] not gonna work out for you you know what i mean they say that the business fails in the first [00:55:10.540] year or two you know what i mean i'm like i'm not gonna be that i don't want to be that statistic [00:55:13.340] i want to i want to push through that obstacle and let's let's make it work you know what i mean [00:55:17.680] And I'm glad I did that because if I didn't do that, I would be following suit with everybody else, you know what I mean? [00:55:22.220] Like, okay, hey, yeah, I did try and start a business and it didn't work, but now I could be like, hey, I started a business and I thrived, you know what I mean? [00:55:28.960] I persevered, you know what I mean? [00:55:30.360] I trudged through those tough times, you know what I mean, to get to where I'm at now. [00:55:33.860] It's not all rainbow and, you know, everything going good. [00:55:37.200] You got to go through a lot of stuff, you know what I mean? [00:55:39.000] And the obstacles are what make you, you know what I mean? [00:55:42.000] People take that for granted. [00:55:43.200] They be like, oh, well, I went through some. [00:55:44.460] Okay, but listen, you went through that, but guess what? [00:55:46.260] that's another chink in your armor you know what i mean now that's something you could deal with [00:55:48.900] you know what i mean you experience that so now guess what now you know how to deal with that in [00:55:51.500] the future so now as you carry on and progress you know what i mean you go and and build your [00:55:55.920] business or whatever whatever it is you have in life you know what i mean now you can say hey you [00:55:59.480] know what i experienced that and i know how to deal with it boom i'm gonna show that to the side [00:56:03.200] because now i know how to deal with that you know what i mean and like people take experience for [00:56:06.920] granted they'd be like oh i would never want to go through that again no i'm glad i went through [00:56:09.500] that shit you know what i mean i'm glad i went through that tough time i'm glad i didn't have [00:56:13.100] five dollars in my pocket i'm glad you know cops are knocking on my door because i was behind on [00:56:17.320] child support no because that made me stronger that made me really really realize that life is [00:56:21.640] real you know what i mean you have to go out there and put the work in you know what i mean [00:56:24.780] nothing's handed to you there's nobody there to bail you out mom and dad are not there like [00:56:27.980] hey i got you no problem you're fine because guess what now you're gonna have that mindset [00:56:31.920] where you're like i'm complacent i can still fuck up you know what i mean no problem i can still [00:56:35.720] just you know wing it mom and dad got me you know what i mean and that's the society it's crazy [00:56:40.820] oh man no yeah people do take it for granted i i think for like the last i don't even know [00:56:47.440] five maybe ten years um every time my mom gives me money she makes sure she writes this is a loan [00:56:54.620] yeah this is not you know what i mean like so if i am going to use her as credit i gotta know that [00:57:02.680] that can be paid back in some way shape or form it's nothing is yeah nothing's a gift or whatever [00:57:10.060] it says unless it's saying okay this is a gift where we're doing something like that but it's [00:57:15.740] done with good intentions you got a good mom she knows that you know saying even she writes this [00:57:19.720] alone it's good for your mindset like okay hey mom mom's got my back but like don't get comfortable [00:57:25.600] you know what i mean like you gotta pay this shit back you know what i mean like exactly you can't [00:57:29.120] fail you gotta they're relying on you to push through that obstacle and say hey listen okay [00:57:33.220] you you gave me this blanket and i will tell you what i'm gonna make a cape out of that shit and [00:57:37.380] just soar through this, this obstacle. You know what I mean? And I feel like that's so important, [00:57:41.220] man. Everybody gets so comfortable, man. That's why I'm like, you know, that's why I always say [00:57:45.320] complacency is a disease, man. You know what I mean? Mediocrity is a disease. You know what I [00:57:48.520] mean? You, you could be like, okay, you know what I made ends meet. I'm good. But you have to want [00:57:52.680] more out of life, man. Like if you, if you just go about life, like, okay, you know what, this and [00:57:56.640] this is done. It's fine. I'm okay with that. If you do that, you're going to, you're going to just [00:58:00.760] keep living this mundane life where it's like repetitive, repetitive, repetitive. You know [00:58:04.480] know what i mean i know i want more you know what i mean like you have to say look so i want more i [00:58:08.420] want to be able to just do things in life i want to be able to travel you know what i mean even if [00:58:12.180] it's to another state it doesn't have to be in another country you just want more out of life [00:58:15.420] you know what i mean if people don't grasp that concept they're gonna forever be stuck in that [00:58:18.860] rut where they're like okay whatever their excitement is going out to a club or a restaurant [00:58:23.340] to eat food like no i don't want it to be like that you know what i mean i want to experience [00:58:26.580] life i want to travel for you if if that's your idea you know once a month you go to a nice [00:58:33.260] restaurant or like you know you're fine making whatever i just want to throw a number like 30 [00:58:39.780] or 40 i mean you look at median in this area most jobs most good jobs are paying about that so [00:58:46.380] if you can make that work in 2025 i understand because not everybody's built to be an entrepreneur [00:58:53.740] like no they're not you know i hate when entrepreneurs get out here like oh you nine [00:58:58.040] to fivers need to quit what you're doing and stuff like this no like i have i have at least nine to [00:59:04.060] five in contracts you know what i mean i'm at working contracts guaranteed throughout that time [00:59:11.260] and then time in addition to that so it's like if you're not ready to go all in on it there's [00:59:18.460] nothing wrong with that but if you're not going all in and you're sad try going all in see if it [00:59:25.060] doesn't make you feel great see if that doesn't give you enough dopamine i mean dude you're hit [00:59:30.220] it right in the middle because i always say like that's the thing like that sometimes the risk is [00:59:34.820] worth the reward you know what i mean like you have to just take that step like shit you want [00:59:38.740] to step in that water it might be it might have alligators or crocodiles in it but if you can [00:59:42.360] cross there and there's a there's a there's a prize from the side let's take that risk you [00:59:45.560] know what i mean but you won't know till you do it you know that's why they say people you know [00:59:49.660] you know a huge percentage of people die and they have regret because they didn't make that move or [00:59:54.540] they didn't take that chance you know i mean take that risk you know what i mean so you [00:59:57.280] it's like you have to man you know what i mean especially the society we live in now where we [01:00:01.520] have so many resources man shit i wish i had a modicum of the resources we have now you know [01:00:06.600] what i mean you have youtube all these platforms where you can learn anything you can pick up [01:00:10.240] anything you know what i mean and it's sad because it's out there but a lot of people [01:00:13.160] still utilize it you know what i mean they're just like no you know what i'm cool with just [01:00:16.700] we lost it over a generation we did we did lose it man my my mom got into crafting she's in her [01:00:23.480] late sixties. She got into crafting through YouTube and watching people and like put a [01:00:29.500] whole room in her house in retirement, kept learning stuff. I feel I'm going to be the [01:00:33.600] same way, but like my kids aren't, you know, they're still in school. They're like, I'm [01:00:41.700] learning what's in school. I'm like, you don't want to take anything you learn in school [01:00:44.880] further. Like, you know how many things there were in my graphic design course where like [01:00:49.380] we had the ability to do it but absolutely do you remember youtube when it first started it was like [01:00:55.440] it was like man popping red balloon yeah it wasn't like i'll watch it like it's just a stupid viral [01:01:00.760] video you know now it's like so much content like it could be as stupid as the you order a new [01:01:05.280] machine or something you'd be like damn let me i want to know how this machine is assembled or how [01:01:10.020] it works and you could almost 100 of the time you can go on there type the machine and be like okay [01:01:14.260] this is a video of unboxing or how you assemble it you know what i mean and i've done that this [01:01:18.800] the i have gym equipment you know where i'm like you know what i mean i look it up and i'm like i'm [01:01:22.300] glad because it's sometimes like a bolt doesn't align a certain way you got to move them move the [01:01:25.900] machine a certain way to get it to thread in like youtube is a huge huge resource and a lot of people [01:01:30.220] don't utilize it you know what i mean and i'm like dude i live on youtube like my notifications on my [01:01:34.040] phone is all youtube videos of different pages i've got whether it's motivational speakers but [01:01:38.060] they're spiritual you know what i mean like i like steven furtick back into that i like jocko [01:01:42.240] willing yeah i'll give i'll give you some and then that's all i would i mean ask anybody that [01:01:45.820] knows me like if you're if you're around me 90 of the time it's gonna be a youtube video playing [01:01:49.780] in the background whether i played on my phone or my bluetooth speaker there's always something [01:01:52.700] i'm trying to pull in you know whether it's motivational or inspirational or educational [01:01:57.500] you know what i mean i've even you know started dabbling with learning other languages on youtube [01:02:01.780] because it's there you know what i mean like why waste your time so it kills me when people sit [01:02:05.560] there and they scroll for 45 minutes to an hour like whoa what what did that benefit you okay yeah [01:02:10.380] you saw a couple posts that made you laugh or you liked it you know what i mean but like that's time [01:02:14.300] you don't get back so you just invested 45 minutes to an hour scrolling when you could have picked up [01:02:20.080] a a new skill you know what i mean or you know inquired about a new hobby or or even spend time [01:02:25.860] with chad gbt chad gbt is huge i know a lot of people use that it's just great it's so funny [01:02:31.100] you say that because it's so crazy we're low on time we actually just rolled over an hour so i'm [01:02:36.840] not going to be able to tell you all the hats it's another it's another trip yeah i'll let you know [01:02:40.580] some things even just uh the voice got a lot better so while i'm driving i'll tell it look [01:02:46.700] i'm looking to brainstorm that changes the way it responds to you you just say hey and then it'll [01:02:51.540] keep poking the questions rather than try to have a conversation with you and then when you get to [01:02:58.220] wherever you are yep all that chat history is saved in your computer so you can go back through [01:03:04.280] your brainstorms like you hit it on the money and it's funny because like i always tell people like [01:03:09.220] this this phone is a is a huge resource it's a tool and i i find it really hard to sit on here [01:03:15.480] and scroll like i'm always like big on my time like i feel like time is like time is money you [01:03:19.760] know what i mean like if not literally in a currency sense but like you can benefit from [01:03:25.060] what you choose to put in front of your face on your phone you know what i mean or the the [01:03:30.120] information you choose to disseminate to your platform that's why that's why like i always take [01:03:34.080] breaks from social media i don't there's times i don't go on for a week you know because people [01:03:37.580] are like always posting the same stuff about the same celebrity or whatever stuff to hear in every [01:03:42.300] gossip whatever i'm like i don't i don't care for that you know i mean how is that going to benefit [01:03:45.680] me i don't care about what p diddy's doing or what jay-z's doing you know i mean like a break i took [01:03:50.300] i'm just coming off a month break listen right around the diddy stuff doesn't it feel good though [01:03:54.220] like it just it just divests you from everything and it allows you to focus on what you need to [01:03:57.020] get done you know what i mean and that's why i can't even post all the stuff that i got done [01:04:01.640] yeah when i got off social and i locked in i literally i i posted once this week where i had [01:04:07.900] three projects one of them was four different graphics one was an album cover one was a logo [01:04:13.340] which they take like two weeks so it's like i'm literally working on three projects at a time yep [01:04:19.360] but yet it's been two three months how much do you think in three months that i have and if i [01:04:25.750] don't want to flood you and post i mean i could just go and post 26 in a day that's huge like [01:04:30.610] there's people like that dude there's people like that that'll post like seven eight times in a day [01:04:34.130] and the stuff they put out is just either complaining or you know just stupid stupid [01:04:40.110] idolizing you know celebrities whatever whatever what's that getting you they don't care about you [01:04:44.770] at the end of the day they're sitting pretty you know what i mean and you complaining is not going [01:04:47.530] to help anybody else out you know what i mean like you just look miserable you know what i mean like [01:04:50.950] are you really content with your life that you have to get on facebook and complain about every [01:04:53.990] single thing in life like it doesn't serve any purpose so yeah i'm big i'm huge huge huge on [01:04:58.690] on just divesting myself from social media and just taking like weeks off at a time because [01:05:02.370] like you said it allows you to lock into what you want to get done you know what i mean and dude [01:05:06.290] there's no way to feel and just like feel unproductive like damn i got this done this [01:05:09.430] done you know what i mean i'm not distracted by social media and what who's doing what or [01:05:12.830] who's talking to who or who's you know betray somebody else you know at this point i just say [01:05:17.230] what am i ask myself what am i looking for yeah now if it's i like threads because you can go [01:05:23.890] with just yeah i wanted to get into threads too that seems pretty interesting yeah you got it's [01:05:27.830] I'm just scared to get down that rabbit hole because I feel like if I get into threads and I see people post like, and you can see like the preview of what they're posting, I'm like, damn, this sounds pretty good. [01:05:34.690] I would like to jump on that. [01:05:35.750] You know what I mean? [01:05:36.490] But I haven't really dabbled with it like that. [01:05:38.170] You know what I mean? [01:05:38.530] No, it's highly engaging and you can see just your followers. [01:05:42.990] So like one thing I like about Facebook, and this has happened, when I took the month break, somebody asked if I was all right. [01:05:49.990] They're like, I haven't seen you. [01:05:50.950] Dude, that's what they say. [01:05:51.830] Exactly. [01:05:52.070] It becomes like a community. [01:05:53.770] it becomes like a thing where you have to know what happened where or and uh for most people [01:06:00.990] i'd imagine that it's pretty much like an echo chamber for people like me or you who are [01:06:06.170] connectors we know people of all different walks of life race creed religion you're gonna see like [01:06:13.030] the things that are happening in this circle may not be happening over here so yeah i find struggle [01:06:19.850] with okay who is my audience i have 20 to 29 29 to 35 i mean most of the listeners of this show [01:06:28.010] are 32 to 39 but you know what do you it changes the way you think about all of it absolutely they're [01:06:35.810] gonna love this episode man i'm glad i'm i was glad to be here man i'm glad to be a part of it [01:06:39.910] man i'm grateful for the opportunity i look forward to a future visit you know what i mean [01:06:43.150] and capitalizing what we were talking about you know i'm talking more about stuff you know what [01:06:46.430] i mean it'd be great to just put this disseminate some information that's going to help people you [01:06:49.550] going to benefit them so i thank you for this opportunity i know you don't take it for granted [01:06:54.820] but you live a life you do a lot of things that people think like you you do instagram in real [01:07:01.440] life yeah you know what i mean like you do the stuff that people think so if they want to be [01:07:07.080] anything like you they're going to listen to this episode they're going to think about their daily [01:07:11.340] habits they're going to set goals with intention yep you know and that's what this show is about [01:07:17.680] it's about the the journey it's about persevering more than anything yeah and once they realize once [01:07:27.440] you get to the end to success that there's still a journey exactly dude yeah it's like uh like they [01:07:33.760] say if you go to the end of the space yep and you shoot an arrow out where is it gonna land yeah [01:07:39.650] exactly 100 it goes but yeah man let's land the plane thank you man i appreciate it man it was [01:07:44.930] for sure man thank you for this opportunity and uh shout out to the audience man let's do some [01:07:49.970] more in the future do you have anything coming up you want to shout out no nothing really i'm [01:07:53.410] just laying low right now i'm not competing till like next year so i'm good right now [01:07:56.730] cool man maybe we'll get a setup at one of your competitions that'd be awesome man let's do it [01:08:01.370] we'll do a ring we'll do a ring side announcement let's do it yeah let's do it thank you man [01:08:05.810] appreciate it tony thank you for listening to i will not lose thank you for listening to another [01:08:10.800] episode of I Will Not Lose Podcast.
